​We have a little update regarding our plans for this Saturday, 20th June!

​Due to low ticket sales for our planned afternoon disco, we’ve decided to change our plans.

With the weather forecast looking sunny, we want to make sure everyone can enjoy the day together.

​So, we are instead hosting a fully inclusive Family Fun Day and the best part? It is completely FREE ENTRY! No tickets required! Just rock up and enjoy!

​Bring the whole family down to 1860 Bar & Kitchen @ Durham Rowing Club between 2pm and 6pm for a brilliant afternoon in the sun.

The biggest weekend of the summer is just around the corner, and we are ready to keep you fueled and refreshed from dawn till dusk! Whether you're here for the racing, the atmosphere, or just a great coffee by the river, here is everything you need to know about our opening hours from Friday 12th to Monday 15th June.

We’ve got extended bar hours and our riverside marquee bar is open all weekend long! 👇

Knowing what to do if you see someone in trouble in the water could save their life. 🧑‍🚒

That's why our firefighters were demonstrating life-saving water rescue techniques on Durham riverside today as part of of the National Fire Chiefs Council - NFCC 'Be Water Aware Week.'

The campaign aims to raise awareness of water safety and the dangers of accidental drowning.

The crew showed the public how to float on their back if they ever found themselves in difficulty in the water and how to throw a life ring to help someone in distress.

The public and riverside bar staff also had a go at throwing a life ring to our firefighters in the river.

Remember, 'Phone, Tell, Throw' to help someone in a water emergency. 👇

🚒 Phone 999 and ask for the fire and rescue service. You can use the ‘what3words’ app to help emergency services accurately pinpoint where you are.
🚒 Tell the person in the water to stay calm and float on their back.
🚒 Throw rescue equipment to help them float and hold onto the end to pull them in.
🚒 Never enter the water yourself to help someone or a pet in distress.
