NSB XIV's Alba Wild Beer Launch Party

The 2026 Natural Selection Brewing Project beer has officially been announced.
This year’s Heriot-Watt brewing team are creating a Scottish Pale Ale brewed with heather, chamomile and coriander seed, inspired by Scottish folklore and storytelling.

The artwork comes from Scottish artist KMG, featuring Scáthach, the legendary Celtic warrior and folklore heroine.

KMG’s work is heavily inspired by the stories and myths of Northern Scotland, exploring cultural identity, folklore, and the importance of oral storytelling traditions that risk being forgotten over time. Her murals and workshops have become well known for celebrating and reclaiming Scottish heritage through contemporary art.

Every year, four MSc Brewing & Distilling students from Heriot-Watt University take on the challenge of running their own brewery and launching an original beer with us.

Celebrate the launch of Alba Wild with an unforgettable night of beer, music, and good company at NSB XIV. Enjoy live music from Chameleon Lady, grab food from Bandit Burgers, and enjoy £3.50 pints of Alba Wild all night long. A full bar, including low and no-alcohol options, will also be available. Whether you're coming for the beer, the music, or the atmosphere, expect a fun and relaxed launch party celebrating Scottish and summer drinking.

Alba Wild is a light, refreshing Scottish Pale Ale bringing together floral notes of heather and chamomile with a crisp citrus finish from coriander. Designed ahead of Scotland's World Cup return, the beer celebrates Scottish landscape, creativity, and identity, brought to life through artwork by Scottish artist KMG.

Limited-edition NSB XIV t-shirts will be available on the Stewart Brewing website while supplies last.

The beer officially launches at their event on 11/06/26 at Leith Arches.

Jazz at Leith Arches: From Traditional to Experimental

Ed White and the Mystics: Ed White is joined by tabla player Manav Singh and Bassist Ramcise Modie for a fully improvised set blending Indian, African, and British elements into free jazz.

Carleton, Crossley and Bamford!: Iain Carleton leads a guitar, bass and drums jazz trio blending blues, swing and groove-led jazz. The set ranges from Blue Monk to the New Orleans funk of Cissy Strut.

Zanag Dangata & Andy Maine: pianist Zanang Dangata - a rising star in the Edinburgh jazz scene - is joined by Andy Maine on double bass. Expect a set of carefully curated jazz standards for the bebop era and beyond.
