We've been informed that some people are walking around completely unaware of exclusive discounts, limited edition bakes and first access to new treats.

Frankly it's hugely concerning.

Meanwhile members of our email list are out there living their best lives.

They get:

First access to limited drops before everyone else starts panic-buying.

Exclusive discounts.

Early access to new bakes.

Special offers.

The occasional completely unnecessary email about subjects nobody asked for.

Recent topics have included:

* Seagull crime
* Hidden brownie stashes
* The World Cup
* Other matters of national importance

This isn't one of those boring email lists where you receive 17 emails a day about "exciting business updates."

Nobody wants that.

This is more like a slightly chaotic bakery community where you get first dibs on the good stuff and the occasional laugh while you're hiding from your responsibilities.

Think of it as:

Part bakery club.
Part support group.
Part highly unqualified life advice.

The only downside is that when we release something new and delicious, you'll know about it before everyone else.

A strange thing happened in the cafe today

A customer came in and ordered a coffee, sat down with a book and quietly enjoyed 30 minutes of peace

No phone

No emails

No notifications

No scrolling

Just a coffee and a book

To be honest we’re still not entirely convinced it wasn’t some sort of social experiment.

In a world where most of us can’t watch a 30 second video without checking another app halfway through and witnessing someone simply sit and enjoy a coffee felt almost mythical.

Like spotting a unicorn.

Or finding a matching Tupperware lid.

Meanwhile the rest of us were:

* checking our phones
* looking for our phones
* or holding our phones while looking for our phones

Perhaps they’ve figured something out that the rest of us haven’t

Or perhaps they just had a really good coffee

Either way it got us thinking…

When was the last time you sat down and did absolutely nothing for half an hour?

A huge shoutout to our amazing bakers who somehow keep the café fully stocked with all the cakes, traybakes and sweet treats you lot keep disappearing daily.

Early mornings, endless mixing, baking and decorating and somehow they still manage to make everything look and taste incredible

We honestly couldn’t do it without them so next time you grab a coffee and cake, know there’s a seriously hardworking team making the magic happen behind the scenes
