Weather is looking quite good. Currently it’s showing to be slightly overcast at 9am. However quite warm. So be mindful of the conditions. Make sure you’re hydrated, wear light clothing and listen to your body. If you’re bringing a furry companion make sure they have water available and comfortable to run in the warmer weather. We look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow.

⚠️parkrun important update - read before you zone out and think “I’ll be fine”⚠️

🐶 DOGS
We are strongly discouraging dogs this week. Yes, even the well-behaved ones. Yes, even the ones that “love a run”.
Little paws in furry jackets + warm ground + enthusiastic humans = not a vibe. Please leave canine companions at home where they can supervise your Strava from the sofa. There is not a lot of shade on our course.

🌡️ WEATHER FORECAST: “Surprisingly enthusiastic” (24-25°C vibes at 9-10am on Saturday 🥵)
It’s expected to be above average warmth, which means:
You will start saying “it’s actually quite nice” at 09:00
You will regret that sentence by 09:07...

🏃‍♂️ RUNNING and WALKING REMINDER (serious bit disguised as friendliness):
Take care out there. Be sensible. Hydrate before, during, and after. If you’re thinking “I don’t need water,” you absolutely do. If you’re thinking “I’ll be fine,” that’s exactly what people who are not fine say. BRING WATER AND/OR ELECTROLYTES !!

👙 WEAR APPROPRIATE CLOTHING:
Light layers
Sun protection
Anything that does not feel like a portable greenhouse
If you start chasing a PB in this heat, please remember: the only thing you should be sprinting for is shade.

🙋 VOLUNTEER?
Reasons to volunteer this week:
💙You stay stationary (peak energy efficiency)
❤️You get to clap at people who made questionable life choices
🖤You can offer “you’re looking strong!” while knowing they are absolutely not
💚You avoid sun-induced regret entirely
💙You become part of the rare group who finish the morning fresher than they started

🧠 SUMMARY:
Hot. Hydrate. Don’t bring dogs. Consider volunteering instead.
We currently plan to go ahead tomorrow but keep an eye out on this page for updates. We look forward to welcoming you all tomorrow and please take care in the heat.

With temperatures rising this weekend, please consider leaving your parkrun pooches at home for their welfare and safety.

Hot weather warning - it’s expected to be hot on Saturday so please a) pace yourself accordingly b) dress appropriately c) bring water to hydrate and d) dog owners please consider that our four legged friends have a much harder time in the heat than we do. Depending on temperatures there is a possibility we may have to cancel as late as on the day. We will let you know if that decision is made and if the event team on the day decide the heat poses a genuine risk, please understand that they are doing so for the safety of participants and volunteers.
