Have you tried our toasties before?

Our ham and cheese toastie is made using cheddar cheese and hand carved Wiltshire ham for the ultimate taste. You can choose to have it on bloomer bread or sourdough. With salad or fries or both or by itself!

Did you know all our food is made to order, meaning you can customise your toastie to suit your preferences . Why not add some spring onions or tomatoes to it?

Our toasties are available all day Tuesday- Sunday.

One of Redwood Bistro’s Signature Dishes…

Our Croque Monsieur is a true French bistro classic, inspired by the timeless recipes and techniques that have shaped Chef Marcio’s career.

Having trained and worked alongside Michel Roux, Chef Marcio has created a Croque Monsieur that’s rich, indulgent and full of authentic flavour.

Layers of premium ham, Gruyère cheese and our homemade béchamel sauce, toasted between golden white bloomer bread, then finished with crispy bacon, fresh thyme, Parmesan, spring onions and fresh pea shoots.

It’s one of our most-loved dishes and a favourite with our regular guests for good reason.

🇧🇷 From São Paulo to Redwood Bistro ❤️

Meet our Torta Holandesa – one of Brazil’s most beloved desserts and a true taste of Chef Marcio’s home.

Despite its name, Torta Holandesa (Dutch Pie) isn’t actually from the Netherlands. It was created in São Paulo, Brazil, in the 1990s by a Brazilian lady who had returned from a trip to Europe and was inspired to create a new dessert. It quickly became a national favourite, loved for its buttery biscuit base, silky vanilla cream filling and rich chocolate ganache.

For Chef Marcio, this isn’t just another dessert on the menu – it’s a reminder of home. Growing up in São Paulo, Torta Holandesa was a dessert enjoyed at family celebrations and special occasions. Today, he’s proud to bring an authentic taste of Brazil to Redwood Bistro, made with the same passion and attention to detail that defines his cooking.

🇧🇷 A Taste of Brazil Has Arrived at Redwood Bistro 🇧🇷

Chef Marcio is preparing one of Brazil’s most beloved traditional dishes – Muqueca.

Originating from the beautiful coastal regions of Brazil, Muqueca is a fragrant seafood stew that’s slow-cooked from scratch using fresh fish and king prawns in a rich sauce of creamy coconut milk, ripe tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic, fresh coriander and a touch of lime. The gentle simmer allows all the flavours to come together, creating a dish that’s both comforting and full of vibrant Brazilian flavour.

The one you see here is with a whole tuna steak for each customer as they fancied tuna.

Served with fluffy white rice, it’s a true taste of Brazil and a dish that’s close to Chef Marcio’s heart.

🫛🍵🌿 Pea and Mint Ravioli 🌿🍵🫛

A fresh, vibrant puree of sugar snap peas, lemon 🍋 and mint blended down with freshly made pea 🫛 and mint ravioli placed on top. Garnished with garden peas, pea shoots and lemon 🍋 zest. This dish is vegan 🌱

However if you are not vegan we can add Parmesan to it.

It’s a perfect summer dish using fresh and locally sourced ingredients ❤️

You can start your morning with a delectable freshly ground Redwood Bistro, Crews Hill blend coffee. Or how about a healthy plate or smashed avocado, St Ewe golden yolk eggs and H Forman and son’s smoked salmon? Or if you prefer something a little more naughty a full English using locally produced ingredients or a bacon sandwich? We have everything you could desire for breakfasts…

Moving onto lunches is where we really go all out with an extensive menu covering everything from toasted sandwiches and jacket potatoes through to rotisserie chicken with a homemade red wine jus, juicy beef burgers, calamari, quesadillas, homemade chicken pie… The list really is endless!

Did you know we have a specials menu which we change every week? Just to give you even more options!

We are the only independent restaurant in Crews Hill! We are also the only place to eat in Crews Hill who use locally sourced ingredients and where all our produce is artisan and of high quality.

Why do we use this? Because we are passionate about food ❤️ We research and try out all our ingredients and visit suppliers locally to make sure we deliver our customers the highest quality and flavourful ingredients we can possibly deliver. We are also passionate about animal welfare and ensure all our meat is free range. We buy our meat from a local butcher who only sources meat from free range farms in Hertfordshire and Essex.
