Dear Amazing Customers and Staff,

Thank you for the amazing support and custom. We just received this letter of recognition from Steve Race (Labour MP for Exeter)-see in pictures attached. Again some more recognition of the hard work everyone puts in. We are a small friendly Indian/Bangladeshi restaurant that has done well to punch above our weight especially in challenging times. This letter is for the customers and all our staff members over the last 4 years. In the last 4 years we have been open every single day apart from Christmas Day. And even without internet/phone connection (90% of our takeaways come through these channels), flooding, severe weather conditions, family bereavement and other 101 problems we have remained committed in serving everyone in Heavitree and beyond. Thank you, it's been our pleasure. Without customers we cease to exist; there will definitely be some downs but lots of ups in future. If we do get it wrong, please let us know and we will do our best to sort it out.

We understand Labour aren't exactly flavour of the month but I am sure majority of MPs regardless of party lines and divisions will always strive for the best for the country. Quick note for the smart comments that will inevitably follow, please don't. We, the team, at Tamarind Bay, happen to be very welcoming and liberal, we don't take sides, we serve everyone irrespective, even if you support Manchester United. We are very lucky that Heavitree is an amazing place full of great and lovely people and lots of local businesses. Many divisions exist, as is life, however together we all can be more understanding and support each other. Hopefully we will continue to post positive news.

Dear Customers,

Please can all customers order takeaways on our website on New Years Eve. This will help us significantly. If you need it for a certain time or need to edit any of the dishes, at the end of the order, you will get a chance on Order Notes. If you wish to order today (30th December 2025) please do. On New Years Eve, we are open from 4pm to 11pm.

📌 We will do our best to cook orders as they come. Our process as follows: order comes, we cook, we store in a hot plate and only pack when customer comes to collect or driver is available. Your order time will be slightly later then usual, however this does not mean we cook and store your order for a long period of time. Example: customer orders a takeaway for delivery, gets quoted roughly 1 hour for delivery. This means we will cook it as soon as we can (dependant on how many orders are ahead of your order) and send out it as soon as possible when a driver is available. Your takeaway will tend to spend a minimal amount of time in the hot plate that we use to store your food. And of course we aim to send out as soon as possible before the hour has elapsed. But for New Years Eve, please give us additional time even if we did quote an hour.

🅿️Remember, there is on-street parking and there is a car park (Gordons Place Car Park) 30 seconds walk away from the restaurant. See pictures for more information, free after 6pm. And conveniently, a mini Tesco's with a petrol pump and parking opposite. 🚗 🚘

And lastly, thank you for the support, the custom and tolerance. Thank you for seeing us through another year. We wish everyone a Happy New Year and hope 2026 will be a great year. Please keep and spare a thought for those working hard throughout the festive period and most importantly for those unfortunate than us across the world. NYE: Additionally, as we head to New Years Eve, please try and book ahead, we do have some tables left to book. Please leave extra time for takeaways and collections. We are open from 4pm on the 31st December 2025 till 11pm. Happy to stay on longer of needed. If you wish to book a takeaway or delivery in advance (even couple days in advance), we'll happily do that and website will open earlier on the day. This year we will be more prepared.

We can only thank our amazing customers, staff members and family who have helped this become possible. We came into Heavitree hoping to make an award winning restaurant. And we have finally achieved it. All the hard work has paid off and we can't tell you how much we appreciate everyone. It's been incredible and tough, challenging and fun, stressful and hectic. Yet, we are here, we have served countless customers, from all over the country and abroad. However, our local customers are the backbone and we hope we have made you proud.
