One of Barnstaple’s oldest fish and chip shops is soon to be its newest.
Your old favourite is back - the new Silver Cod!
Over 2 years have passed and we’re incredibly pleased to announce that the wait is almost over.
The new Silver Cod represents our vision of how a traditional fish & chip shop fits into a modern world. We’ve considered sustainability, environmental impact and asked how can we take all of our family know how and make better fish & chips.
We have prioritised working with local firms - as a local business, we are committed to doing our bit to help the local community prosper. We also look forward to hiring new team members from what has always been a wonderful town full of good people.
With a budget of over a quarter of a million pounds, we had a lot of scope to achieve a new aesthetic and have worked tirelessly with a number of designers to help achieve our brief: a bold modern fish and chip shop.
Our restaurant can now host parties of larger numbers whilst seating them in greater comfort, and our new bar area can be enjoyed whilst waiting for a table or for extra guests to arrive.
You can now enjoy different atmospheres to suit your tastes and needs - from cosy and private to party worthy and family friendly.
We’re reintroducing our popular click & collect service and are committed to leading the way in fish and chips home delivery. To that end, we have invested in top of the line food heaters to keep everything tip top and hot if you’re running a little late.
To give you better choice and access to delivery portal deals and special offers, we’re signed up with the biggest delivery companies in the business. You’ll be able to order The Silver Cod’s fresh fish and chips from the comfort of your sofa with Just Eat, Uber Eats and will soon be adding Deliveroo - all now with an extended catchment - you can even order alcohol with your food delivery so you can really have a great night staying in!
