Merry Christmas from all of us at Sprout!

We've had an amazing first few months and to have so many lovely regulars at this stage is way beyond anything we could have hoped for. We love how you've helped us create the chilled, relaxed vibe we were aiming for.

We love that people who haven't come to 1 Cathedral Yard for a few years are happy to see a place like Sprout back. We love that so many people who did come to our predecessor have returned. We love that you appreciate us unashamedly celebrating plant-based whole foods and ingredients for what they are, and especially appreciate it when you tell how you can taste how much love has gone into making the food. It makes the early morning starts making everything for you so worth it.

We love hearing how much you love the refurbishment and how much of an improvement we've made. (And this might be weird, but we especially love it when you tell us how much nicer the toilet area is!)

As you can tell from this message, we love love. You keep bringing it, we'll keep giving it back.

We accidentally said in a now-deleted post that we're not open this Tuesday, but we definitely are! What we meant to say before was we're open Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 3pm, as usual this week then closed from 21 December until 13 January. We'll be back on Wednesday 14 January.

Our spicy lentil and spinach soup will keep you lovely and warm in this cold weather. Made by us with gluten-free ingredients, it comes with a side of our house sourdough focaccia or naturally gluten-free chickpea flatbread.

We're right by the Christmas market so if you want somewhere warm and dry for lunch or just a cuppa, come find us at 1 Cathedral Yard.

New at Sprout: dips and small plates to cater for all appetites, moods, and level of hunger. Sadly, the sandwiches have gone to make way for these but it allows us to offer more variety while also offering more gluten-free options. Our sourdough focaccia is still available as a warm side, or try the herby chickpea flatbread made with gluten-free ingredients.

Everything, including the bread and flatbread, is made in-house by us on the premises.

The sourdough we use for our sandwiches is made by us at Sprout. Slowly fermented over 48 hours to unlock all the goodness before baking, all it contains is sourdough starter, organic flour, water and salt. Pure, simple and delicious.

We can finally announce an opening date for Sprout: Wednesday, 10 September.

We might open on the odd day before then, to help us test everything's working as it should be. If we are, we'll post a story on our socials.
