The fabulous Eddie 83, and Stephen 71, have made it to John O’Groats in record time. Despite many days of wind and rain as they headed north, they have smashed the record for their ages.

We loved having them and the crew with us last week at the end of their first day of cycling.

All cyclists, bikers, walkers, horse riders and car drivers welcome at The New Inn of course. 😊

Did you know that, as well as our beautiful outdoor space, we have a function room for private events?

We offer different buffet menus that can be tweaked to accommodate dietary requirements and personal choices including gluten free and vegan.

We can also provide sit down meals for large groups with a pre ordered selection from our main menu and/or special two and three course meal deals.

Recently we have hosted a wake, an 18th birthday party and a wedding anniversary. We have a christening party coming up and a 60th birthday.

How can we help you celebrate your special occasion?

Sadly, due to other commitments, today is the last time we will welcome The Mermaid’s Plaice mobile fish and chip van.

We will certainly miss their delicious offerings but wish them the very best with their future plans.

Food will be served from 5-7pm with the bar open 4-8 pm.

We now have a football goal back in our garden so bring along a ball and celebrate the England win before enjoying your fish supper.

More diverse visitors again at The New Inn.

This time a miniature pony and the Demons Devon MC.

The pony was happy to give rides to little one and enjoyed some fresh grass as payment.

The bikers are staying with us for the weekend and have enjoyed camping in our field, two barbecues and a hearty breakfast, possibly a beverage or two now being enjoyed.

Let us know if you’d like to hold an event here and we can make plans.

What a pleasure it was to meet all the crew last night.

What an amazing visit we have had from these wonderful men. 71 and 83 year old cyclists, and their support team, on a charity ride from Lands End to John O’Groats.
Today they’ve cycled all the way from Lands End and chose us as their first stop.
Honoured to have them here enjoying our beer and a home cooked meal.
It would be great if you could support them by following their journey and donating to Cuthberts Hospice

Hoping you all had a wonderful weekend.
We certainly did here.
The sun wasn’t quite so fierce so the garden was filled with families enjoying time together, sharing food and fun.

A big shout out to all of our hardworking team that kept everyone fed and watered over the hot hot week. They worked super hard in difficult conditions.
A big thank you also to our customers for bearing with us as we made adjustments to menus and service times due to the heat and coped with staff shortages last minute. It’s made us realise what a brilliant community we are part of.

Today we have a slight rest day but are open from 4-8pm for drinks and The Mermaid’s Plaice mobile chip van will be here serving delicious fish and chips etc from 5 - 7pm.

As our sign by our gate says,
Pop in and Say hello, we don’t bite…… often! 😂😂
