Following a review, the National Koi Show Committee has confirmed that the Baby Champion entry at this year's National Koi Show did not meet the eligibility requirements set out in Rule 11.2.3 of the 2022 KPG Show Rules & Guidelines.

This rule requires that an exhibitor's koi must have been resident in their home pond for a minimum of 30 days prior to the show. This requirement was also communicated to all exhibitors by email on 3 June, ahead of the event.

As a result, the Baby Champion award has been revoked. The exhibitor has been informed, and the award will not be reallocated.

The Committee would like to place on record its sincere thanks to the exhibitor for their honesty and openness throughout the review. It is clear that this was an innocent mistake, which has unfortunately led to an outcome that neither the exhibitor nor the Committee would have wished.

However, the Committee has a responsibility to apply the rules consistently. Failing to enforce the 30-day requirement would be unfair to other exhibitors and could undermine the integrity of the competition in future years.

Regards,

Matt Stevens
National Koi Show Chairman

Congratulations to all of our exhibitors!

The benching team were extremely impressed with the excellent condition of the koi on their arrival on Friday. The judges also commented on how challenging the judging process was, reflecting the exceptionally high standard of koi on display throughout the show.

Thank you to everyone who exhibited and helped make the event such a success.

Thanks,

Matt Stevens
National Koi Show Chairman.
