From roastery to coffee machine ☕️

Our Harbour House Colombia is the house coffee served at both Harbour Coffee and Sailbox, and getting it from the roastery to the café is a little different than you might expect...

Instead of using the typical 1kg bags, we transport our beans in reusable barrels that can be refilled again and again. It's a simple change that saves us over 2,000 single-use coffee bags a year.

It's a small change, but one that helps us reduce waste while keeping your favourite coffee flowing.

Keep an eye out for Chiarra making the coffee run 👀

Finding the right beans ☕

The team have been busy testing beans from Covoya Coffee Europe and Caravela Coffee.

I️n a cupping session, we steep coarsely ground coffee directly in hot water to test the aroma, flavour, acidity, body, and aftertaste.

Before it was known as the Harbour Arm, our seaside home was actually called the Horn Pier!

Built in the 1800s, the pier stretched out into deeper water to help protect ships from rough seas and allow larger vessels to dock safely even in low tides.

Over the years, it became known simply as the Harbour Arm... which we're quite glad of - Horn Pier Coffee Co doesn't have quite the same ring to it!
