SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT: Greencity Wholefoods 💚

Our thank you tour of the brilliant suppliers behind 10 years of Kooee continues… and we have another fantastic business who’s been with us since the very first morning we fired up the coffee machine!

Greencity have supplied our café kitchen since the very first day we opened our doors, a full decade of deliveries, and they’ve never let us down.

Founded in Glasgow in 1978 as a workers’ co-operative, legend has it, splitting sacks of lentils in a tenement flat. Greencity is owned and run by its own staff, everything they sell is vegetarian and ethically sourced, and they’re still proudly based in Dennistoun nearly 50 years on. One Glasgow independent backing another. That’s how it should work 🤝🙂‍↕️

To top it off, they’ve generously donated LOTS of goodies to our birthday prize draw, one more reason to join us for our 10th birthday week, 16th–19th July.

SUPPLIER SPOTLIGHT: Bavarian Bakehouse 🥨

Ten years of Kooee means ten years of the brilliant people behind the scenes. So in the run-up to our Anniversary Week, we’re saying thank you to the suppliers who’ve been with us on the journey ❤️🤗

Every week for ten years, the Bavarian Bakehouse team have kept our café stocked with breads, rolls, cakes, pastries, the lot! Baked fresh and delivered straight to our door. If you’ve ever had a sandwich or a sweet treat at Kooee, chances are you’ve tasted their handiwork!

And what a story they have. They’re a Scottish family-owned bakery going since 1984, Glasgow’s oldest artisan bakery, still baking with a sourdough starter as old as the business itself… Oh, and Noel Gallagher once declared their sourdough is the best he’d ever eaten.

If it’s good enough for Oasis, it’s definitely good enough for Cathcart 🙌

To celebrate our 10th birthday, Bavarian Bakehouse goodies will be up for grabs in our birthday anniversary prize draw, join us for our birthday week celebrations on the 16-19th July and their delicious cakes could be yours 🎁🎈🎂🎉!!

Vegan pollo pesto chicken panini anyone 👀??

Tossed with our homemade pesto, sun dried tomatoes, greens and toasted till crispy and served with our side salad 🥙🥪🥗

We discussed how we first began, from our gran Anna's sewing machine in the 60s, all the way to winning Glasgow Cafe of the Year in 2026. It's a story we're really proud of and one that means so much to our whole family 🤗🤗
