⚡The Nebraska Tour - A Tribute To Bruce Springsteen ⚡

Acoustic Springsteen - A Tribute Sean Keefe heads to The Globe on Saturday 15th August

A solo show celebrating the very best of Bruce Springsteen acoustically.
Bruce Springsteen never toured ‘Nebraska’.
But what if he had?

In 1982, Bruce Springsteen released “Nebraska”, a collection of acoustic home recorded demos upon which he’d captured the nature of the songs precisely. Recording sessions with members of The E Street Band had failed to enhance the songs, and Bruce moved instead into turning these and other songs with the band for Born In The USA, the album that made him into a bona fide superstar. The tour broke records.

It would take him another decade to do a full solo acoustic tour.
But what would it have been like if Bruce Springsteen had toured NEBRASKA?
Using only the songs, themes, and instrumentation that Springsteen had written and was using at the time, THE NEBRASKA TOUR TRIBUTE puts together as accurate a representation as you can imagine, of the show that never was.
There will be deep cuts. There will be favourites, restructured and placed in context.

There will be light, darkness, and redemption.
Welcome to The Nebraska Tribute Tour.

The Nebraska Tour Tribute is performed by Sean Keefe, a working musician and Springsteen expert with over 40 years experience of playing Springsteen.

This is NOT a lookalike show.
This is VERY MUCH a soundalike show.

🔥GLOSSOP CINEMA CLUB - ALIENS🔥

Glossop Cinema Club are back on Sunday 28th June & this time it's the 40th anniversary showing of James Cameron's classic sci-fi actioner Aliens, starring Sigourney Weaver and loads of aliens!

Filled with quotable lines, stunning iconography, terrifying practical effects, relentless alien carnage, and a surprising amount of heart... James Cameron's Aliens is the sequel that nobody thought he could pull off, taking Ridley Scott's claustrophobic horror classic and twisting it into a war movie in space!

One of the highest grossing films of 1986, now regarded as a classic of 80s cinema, and cemented James (Avatar) Cameron as one of the greatest directors of all time.

We're screening this masterpiece for its 40th anniversary, so strap on your power loader and join us upstairs at The Globe, Glossop!

Alongside the film there'll be the usual intro, prizes, and Glossop Cinema Club shenanigans.

See you at the movies!

⚡Gráinne Brady - THIS AFTERNOON ⚡

Gráinne Brady is a musician, songwriter and composer from Co. Cavan, Ireland, known for her work across traditional and contemporary folk music. While widely recognised as a fiddle player, songwriting has become an increasingly important part of her creative work in recent years.

The Highest Blossom is Gráinne’s contemporary folk song project, featuring original songs and co-writes with Boo Hewerdine and Findlay Napier. The songs were developed through periods of focused writing, mentorship and collaboration, and form a body of work that places strong emphasis on lyric, melody and storytelling.

For this performance, The Highest Blossom is presented solo, with the songs at the centre. The arrangements are simple and direct, allowing space for the words and melodies to speak clearly. Drawing on folk song traditions while addressing modern themes, the material explores ideas of movement, belonging, change and personal experience.

Intimate and attentive in nature, this solo performance is well suited to listening spaces, arts centres and song-focused festivals, and offers a clear insight into Gráinne’s work as a songwriter and storyteller.

TBC #18 - Friday 26th June @ The Globe (RESCHEDULED DATE)
______________________________________
SLY AND THE FAMILY DRONE - playing in the round
Sly & The Family Drone are a neo-jazz wrecking crew hailing from London. With roots in cassette collage and noise experimentation, Sly have grown into a multi-limbed sonic organism. Layering dense electronics, skronking saxophone, and feral percussion into a convulsive celebration of noise, rhythm, and resistance.
Originally formed by Matt Cargill as a cassette manipulation project, Sly have evolved into a full-force live ensemble, positioned somewhere between free jazz, noise, industrial and rave culture. Their music is improvised but never aimless, creating towering crescendos and warped textures that leave no two performances alike.
Their performances are legendary: visceral, anarchic, and deeply communal. Preferring to set up in the round, Sly erase the boundaries between band and audience, transforming passive observers into active contributors and collapsing performance into a shamanic ritual of catharsis.
Having shared stages (or floors) with the likes of Lightning Bolt, Wolf Eyes, Dälek & Swans, and festivals such as Supersonic (UK), Unsound (PL), Supernormal (UK), Milhões de Festa (PT), Incubate (NL), Desertfest (UK) - Sly continue to scorch their own path through the no audience underground at venues and festivals in the UK and beyond.
