Firstly, thank you to everyone who commented, messaged, and shared their thoughts on our recent post — whether positive or critical. One thing has become very clear: people genuinely care about this pub, and for that we’re incredibly grateful.

After taking everything on board, we’ve decided to keep the kitchen open, but with reduced hours that are more sustainable for us as a small independent business.

New kitchen hours will be:

Monday–Friday: 5pm–8pm
Saturday: 12pm–9pm
Sunday: 12pm–5pm

Like many pubs and restaurants, we’ve had to face rising costs across the board, and we’re trying to find a balance that allows us to continue serving the community while also keeping the business healthy long term.

Since we took over we’ve always tried to improve the pub for everyone — from expanding the garden, to improving accessibility, to creating a welcoming place for families, locals, and visitors alike. None of this is possible without your support.

If you want to help support your local pub, the biggest thing you can do is simple: use it. Come for a drink, book a table, bring friends, share our posts, and help us keep this place going.

We’re not giving up — we’re adapting, and we hope the community will continue the journey with us ❤️

A difficult announcement from us…

After a lot of thought, we have made the hard decision to close our kitchen from this Tuesday 12/05/2026.

The costs of running the kitchen have risen massively over recent months, with huge increases in prices from Stonegate, suppliers, gas, electricity, and staffing. Sadly, the amount of food trade we are seeing no longer makes it financially viable to continue serving a full menu.

This has not been an easy decision at all, but we have to be realistic about the current situation and do what we can to keep the pub going.

We will still be open as normal for drinks, and we’ll continue to offer bar snacks and nibbles behind the bar. We will also still be available for parties and functions, with buffet catering available on request.

We want to thank everybody who has supported the kitchen over the years and hope you will continue to support us moving forward. Every pint, visit, and bit of support genuinely means a lot to us.
