Our superstar Tuesday night blues act for the Gloucester R&B festival 2026.. BIG JOE BONE 🦴

"Big Joe Bone" (A.K.A. Danny Wilson) plays what he calls "Blues-Grass" music.....a mix of Delta Blues, Bluegrass, Oldtime, Gospel and Hillbilly music utilizing his raspy vocals, hard driving harmonica rhythms, sublime bottleneck slide guitar playing (on steel bodied resonator guitars) and lightning finger-picking skills on 5 string banjos.....all held together by a very heavy stomping boot!

The festival is situated in the heart of Gloucester, within easy reach of both parking and public transport. The entire festival will be totally free for all to enjoy – just as it has been for over two decades! 🎶

It's no surprise to learn that Jamie Thyer's loyal audience is still growing. Entertaining audiences for some 30 years with his bold, unique and expressive guitar playing, Jamie and The Worried Men have survived the whimsical fortunes of the music industry merely by being themselves.

Tonight we are joined by Tom Brookes & The Wilderfolk as they blend country and alt-rock with deep folky undertones. Toms raw and resonant vocals feel reminiscent of the styles of Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder with a country twist. Now in it’s twenty third year.. Café René is very excited to announce this years line up for the honkin stonkin foot stomping Rhythm & Blues Festival 2026!

Once again we’re working around the clock to bring you a full seven days of the biggest, boldest and best in all things Bluesy 🎸

Featuring the signature weekend Green Stage, our famous BBQ and delicious hog roast.. tasty beers, ales, ciders and other drink selections will all be available from one of our bars 🍻

This years festival takes place Monday 27th of July to Sunday 2nd of August with a full week of live music including three days on the famous open-air Green Stage. The outdoor bar will be fully stocked and desperate dan burgers will be sizzling on the BBQ with a corking line up of incredible worldwide Blues & Roots musicians - the soundtrack to your summer! 🌅

Featuring blistering performances from Ben Poole, The Cinelli Brothers, Laurence Jones, Dirty Weather Blues R***e, The Worried Men, The Lewis Creaven Band and soo many more incredible acts!

All of this is situated in the heart of Gloucester, within easy reach of both parking and public transport. The festival will be totally free for all to enjoy – just as it has been for over two decades! 🎶

We will once again be raising money for the James Hopkins Trust, so any generous patrons who wish to contribute will have plenty of opportunity!
