Well that’s it for this chapter at The Boatyard Cafe.
Mixed emotions as I drove out of the yard today and a few tears.

Thank you to everyone who came down today to say goodbye. My kitchen at home is now filled with flowers and prosecco.

So the time has come, for a change at The Boatyard Cafe.
I’ve been here just short of six years and now it’s time to move on.

Malcolm and Maria Beaton, the owners of the boatyard, have found someone else to take the helm.

From the beginning of October, Nathan and his team from the Cornish Food Hub will be running the cafe.
Some of our lovely staff will remain so you’ll still see a few familiar faces.

I’d like to thank you for your kindness and support over the years.

It will feel strange not to spend my days by the river…..but I’m excited for new possibilities.

The New York Toastie - pastrami, cheese, homemade pickles, gherkins and mustard.
We think they’re pretty good too!
It’s partly due to the secret sauce 💛

We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable person to come and join our team.

Approx 15 hours a week. Daytime shifts only, no evenings.

You must have kitchen experience and be able to cook. Coffee training can be given, if necessary.

You’ll be working in a busy kitchen and will be required to work weekends.

You’ll be paid the National living wage and all food and drinks are free.

I was feeling a little flat on my way to work this morning (wishing I could spend the Easter weekend with my friends and family instead of working)…..then I came round the corner to this view and realised how much I love this little cafe…..and just how fortunate I am.
