I am swimming 27km in open water to raise money for the wonderful wards 227, 228 and Critical Care Pod 6 at Stoke Hospital where my son Fraser Diamond has been since February. We owe them his life. My beautiful and talented son Fraser Diamond was involved in a life-changing accident in February after being struck by a lorry. He spent several weeks on life support in Critical Care Pod 6 before being transferred to the Neurological Unit. He is now on the Acute Rehabilitation Trauma Unit which has only 26 beds.
I am kicking off the start of the Fraser Fundraiser with a pledge to swim 27km in open water during the month of September.
We have not been able to visit Fraser since the 18th March but the care and dedication of the nurses, physios, therapists and doctors looking after him mean we are reassured that he is in excellent hands.
