🌸 Garland Day is here in Castleton! 🌸
A huge congratulations to our new Garland King, Ben Millner 👑 taking on the incredible challenge of carrying a mountain of flowers through the village to keep this historic tradition alive.
Join us as the procession winds through Castleton, stopping at six pubs with the Silver Band playing, dancers performing, and the unforgettable moment the garland is lifted high onto St Edmund’s Church tower.
We’re open 12:00– around 20:00 today 🎉 and proud to be fueling the Maypole dancers all day long.

🎶 Peak Cavern Concerts (22nd – 29th May)
Experience live music in one of the UK’s most unique venues – the incredible Peak Cavern! Featuring a fantastic line-up including The Orb, Stereo MCs and Heaven 17 across the week.
🌸 Garland Day – Friday 29th May
One of Castleton’s most loved traditions! Watch the famous Garland King lead a colourful procession through the village, with music, dancing and stops along the route before the garland lands at Market Place, seconds from us.
The procession starts at around 6:30pm from the Peveril Centre.
It’s always an amazing atmosphere – and we’ll be here all week serving up freshly cooked fish & chips 🍴 The dancers will be fuelled by our food, donated by us as a thank you for running this fabulous event.

🏃‍♀️ London Marathon Day remembrance@ 🏁
We applaud the thousands of runners taking on the London Marathon today. It takes grit to do it & I ran it once myself, in 2005 and we raised over £2,000 for St John Ambulance 💪
If you’re out and about in Castleton today, whether you’re cheering runners on from afar, enjoying the sunshine, or rewarding yourself after your own walk or run, we’d love to see you earlier today.
