Introducing another artist performing at the upcoming SisterHudd • Huddersfield showcase this Friday - Sarah L Dixon - Sarah L Dixon ✨

Sarah is poet currently living in Linthwaite.

She said:

“One of the reasons I started writing 35 years ago, aged 15, were the lyrics of people like Jim Bob from Carter USM.

I write to make sense of the world and my themes are often longing and belonging, the valley, music, dancing, joy, connection.”

Sarah will perform some her poems this Friday, July 17 at Northern Quarter, Huddersfield. We hope to see you there! 👏

Introducing another SisterHudd showcase artist - Daisy Dorothy Music 🎶

Daisy Dorothy, hailing from Wakefield, paints whispering winds across a timeless landscape. A refuge for the broken and a peaceful moment for the joyous.

Daisy said: “I’ve always played music. Since I was little I dabbled with guitar. Then drums, bass, keys, and then back onto guitar with intent to find my own way around it. I also started off writing poetry, before I started putting melodies to the words.

I’m inspired by most things, from old folk tales to videogames, and musically I’m inspired by all sorts too; Tom Waits, Roy Harper, Rammstein, most Mike Patton projects, Tír na nÓg, The Beach Boys....

As long as I’m still playing music in my 80’s, I’ll be fine.”

Introducing our first showcase artist - Adelaide Taylor 🎶

Adelaide is an up and coming artist and multi-instrumentalist based in West Yorkshire. Inspired by the likes of Billy Joel, Bowie and Springsteen, she’s dedicated to creating heartfelt music that focuses on narrative as much as composition; her performances are always raw and powerful!

At just 25, Adelaide’s worked with fantastic players such as Neil Fairclough (Queen and Adam Lambert) plus Amy Wadge (Grammy winning writer of Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud). Most notably, she recently had her track ‘Bad Place’ played on BBC Radio 2 👏

She’ll be releasing her debut album at the back end of this year, but in the meantime it’s business as usual - scribbling her thoughts down on paper and putting music to them!
