Founded in 1998, here at Kadri we can now boast over a decade of authentic asian cuisine, and still continue to be instrumental in changing people’s perception of authentic Punjabi cooking. Based in heart of Crosland Moor, a suburb of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, our chefs have spent hours innovating, debating and sourcing ingredients for that perfect taste. We offer tantalising food that few can

compare with, ensuring that customers always come back for that same great eating experience. The foundation of our establishment is simple, solid and timeless, endeavouring to bring family, friends and loved ones together. Our open plan kitchen provides a great focal point, with the tandoor and the char grill producing rapid grilled food, along with traditional Punjabi cooking. Below are, some of the images of the sheer destruction, a fire can cause. Can everyone, please be aware of the risks in your workplace and esparcally at home.

This can happen to anyone,I’ve personally been vigilant over the last 30 years, with a well rehearsed routine

The whole of the building has been contaminated with the remanence of the fire.

Stay save and aware of the dangers of fire.

The story

On Saturday 28th February 2026, normal crazy Saturday nights worth of business.

Staff and I started the clear up at 12.00am, winding down, for closure.

At 12.55, all cleaned up, ready for hone time.

By 1.00am all the staff had left, I concluded my closing doen checks.

I sat and started cashing up and concluding what was remaining of my paperwork.

At approximately 2.05am, i switched the lights off and remotely dropped the shutters.

At 10.00 am, on the 1st March calls, anf text messages came flooding,

Takeaway is on fire with police and fire services in attendance.

I arrive at the takeaway, 10.20am on the 1st Match, to find total devastation of the kitchen area.

Probably the most tragic event of my life, what a numbing feeling, that Sunday.

It’s like a tragedy, too strong for the mind to fathom.

I’ve had to find, a deeper meaning in life ……

It’s with great sadness, we have to announce, a major fire which destroyed our kitchen, in an over night fire. We have been devastated by the news of, having to be forced to close abruptly.

It’s been like a life time of serving our community as we established in 1998. I personally have enjoyed the challenge, making many sacrifices to my personal life to keep pushing forwards

For those of you who have been there from the very start, and you know who you are. I am so truly greatful for all your support over the many years we have served you.

Many things have changed in the last, 30 years, in Crosland Moor, however we have always had brilliant customer’s, new ones, loyal ones and ones we have upset.

I will update this page with photos of the fire damage and the full story as in unfolds.

So please keep watching, liking and sharing our story. And I will keep you updated on progress.
