It has been an absolute rollercoaster of a week—one filled with moments that completely broke my heart, followed by an overwhelming wave of love that put it right back together again.
After the horrific, abusive phone calls we received this week, the community didn't just step up; you wrapped your arms around us. I am sitting here writing this with tears in my eyes, completely overwhelmed by the beautiful messages of support flooding our inbox (I promise, from the bottom of my heart, I will get back to every single one of you).
We’ve had customers who were just out walking their dogs walk through our doors, eyes filled with concern, just to check if we were okay. We’ve had people driving past, pulling their cars over, and coming inside just to offer a kind word. To those who offered to man our phones so we wouldn’t have to hear that vulgar rhetoric, and to the incredible souls who offered to ride along with our drivers to keep them safe—I am entirely at a loss for words. I cannot even begin to describe how profoundly, deeply supported we feel.
For years, I have felt like a part of this beautiful community, even though I’m from the Hilltown. Those vile phone calls briefly threatened to strip that away, making me feel isolated and like an outsider in my own workplace. But the amount of love we received changed everything. It completely erased the way I began to feel. I felt like an outsider after those horrible phone calls. I can honestly say, with total sincerity, that this week has been entirely life-changing for me. You reminded me who we are, and who you are.
We also want to extend our deepest thanks to the Police, who have been incredibly helpful, supportive, and have given us a clear guide and plan of action moving forward.
An Important Update Moving Forward
To protect our team, we are no longer accepting phone calls from withheld numbers.
Note for Ex-Directory Customers: We know a few of our lovely regulars are ex-directory. Please don't worry—I will be in touch with you personally over the coming days to make sure we stay connected.
Once again, thank you to every single one of you, from the absolute bottom of my heart. You turned our darkest week into something I will gratefully remember for the rest of my life.
P.S. A little note to self... ⚽
When Scotland plays at 2:00 AM, you better expect a mad rush at teatime! The game plan is officially locked in: eat early, sleep early, and wake up ready to roar for the team. Absolutely love it. Come on Scotland!!!!
