SKIPINNISH ANNOUNCE 25TH ANNIVERSARY CONCERT AT BIG TOP UNDER CANVAS ๐๐ฅ๐ช๐
It is nearing 25 years since contemporary Celtic band Skipinnish formed, and they have today announced an anniversary concert in the Highland capital to commemorate the occasion.
In early 1999, two recently acquainted college friends decided to have a tune and a dram together. One tune led to another, one gig led to another and a musical powerhouse was born. In 2024, Skipinnish will celebrate 25 years of their musical voyage with an anniversary concert on Saturday 6th July at the Big Top under canvas, Bught Park, Inverness.
The meteoric rise of Skipinnish has seen them shoot to the very top of Celtic Music. Once a small ceilidh band, they have since evolved and grown to something massively unique, with sell-out shows across the countryโs biggest music venues. Skipinnish have attracted audiences greater than the band could ever have imagined, with their hit songs such as Alive, The Island, Last of the Hunters and Walking on the Waves resonating across the globe.
With the loose ends of lockdown activities now tied up, Skipinnish are getting their foot firmly back on the musical throttle and working up to their quarter century. Bught Park will be their flagship Highland celebration; 2024 is set to be a momentous year in the journey of Skipinnish.
Skipinnish founder member, Angus MacPhail said;
โThe Highlands and Islands are the heartland of our music and it feels very fitting that we are able to mark our 25th birthday with a major show in Inverness. Some of the biggest and best shows we have been lucky to perform have been staged at Bught Park and we are delighted to be returning there next July.โ
This is the first show to be announced for the Live in the City 2024 series, organised by Inverness based concert promoters, LCC Live.
Tickets for Skipinnish โThe 25th Anniversary Concertโ go on sale at 9am next Friday (29th September 2023) from www.ticketline.co.uk, as well as in person from Cafferyโs Menswear in the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Inverness.
