💙Today we say a huge congratulations and farewell to Maggie as she retires after more than 27 incredible years at Ayrshire College.

From her early days in Supported Learning, to lecturing in Hospitality and for the past 10 years as Curriculum Quality Manager, Maggie has shown unwavering dedication, care and leadership. She has supported both students and staff to achieve their very best and her impact on so many lives is something we’ll always be grateful for.

We were proud to give her a send off she truly deserved yesterday and it was a reflection of just how much she means to us all.

Maggie, thank you for everything you’ve given over the years, you leave behind a legacy we’ll never forget.
Enjoy every moment of this next chapter in your life, you have more than earned it!

Declan is currently on his way to London with his lecturer Sarah for the prestigious Nestlé Professional Toque d'Or awards ceremony!

💪🏻We’d like to wish them both a smooth and safe journey. No matter the outcome, we already know that Declan’s hard work, dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed and he truly deserves every bit of recognition.

🌟Wellbeing Trip - Dumfries House🌟

Our Steps to Hospitality class and Level 5 Food & Beverage students, alongside their lecturers, had an amazing day out at Dumfries House last Friday!

💪🏻From testing our skills in archery to taking part in a fun-filled scavenger hunt, it was a day full of teamwork, laughter, and new experiences.

A huge thank you to Scott Davidson, who guided us through our archery session, from the basics right through to expert tips to help us really improve our aim 🎯

For some of our students, this marked their last day with us, and we couldn’t be prouder of everything they’ve achieved. We wish you all the very best for the future.
Remember, don’t ever be a stranger! 💙

🌟Salt & Barrel – That’s a wrap🌟

Last week marked our final service before we break for the summer and what a fantastic, busy week it was to end on!

👏We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported Salt & Barrel this year. Your continued visits, kind feedback and enthusiasm have meant so much to our team and students.

It’s hard to believe the year has already come to an end. Over the past year, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming many local rural groups for Afternoon Teas, some of which included masterclasses, demonstrations, and even bingo and quiz events – all of which have been a huge success🧁

We’ve also enjoyed hosting a variety of themed event nights, including our Italian, Caribbean and Scottish evenings, as well as a number of private functions such as birthday celebrations and gatherings and let’s not forget Christmas! Thank you to everyone who chose to celebrate with us.

☕️This year also marked the first full year of our coffee cart, which has been incredibly popular, serving up great coffee alongside a fantastic selection of freshly made bakery products.

Our students have also represented us brilliantly in competitions, achieving great success in events such as Scottish Chefs with Lomond Foods, TUCO, and Nestlé Toque d’Or – we couldn’t be prouder of their hard work and achievements 🎉

To all of our students moving on, we wish you the very best of luck in your next courses and future careers – we’re so proud of everything you’ve achieved ❤️

📆To those returning next year, we can’t wait to welcome you back in August for another great year.

🌟Salt & Barrel - The last yeehaw🌟

Last Thursday we went full country style, from blue jeans and cowboy hats to a soundtrack of country favourites 🎶

Our talented Level 6 Advanced Professional Cookery students delivered some amazing country themed dishes while our Level 5 Food & Beverage students, supported by some of our Steps to Hospitality students, kept everything running smoothly front of house.

We had cocktails flowing such as our smoked old fashioned and cowgirl margarita and ended our evening with some country line dancing 🤠

👏A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and got involved, your energy and support make these events truly special.

What a few weeks it’s been!

🍋🐚We’ve been taken from the Amalfi Coast with lemons and shells to the Caribbean with coconuts and a tiki bar🥥🍹

We hope everyone had an amazing time dining with us and congratulations to our bingo prize winners 🏆
