Tonight we hosted the Ladies and Gentlemen from Gloucestershire Fire Service….

A huge thank you to the Fire Service for their efforts in preventing a small fire getting out of control. On the scene within ten minutes and totally professional.

Fortunately nobody was hurt and although only half a dozen bales were lost our contractor lost his baler. A very expensive piece of kit and a loss to a young man starting out in his agricultural business.

Farming can be a tough call at times

Thanks to Mark Wheeler for bringing his tractor down to help clear bales away from the fire.

🦴 Got a fossil to identify? Don't miss this free community event in King's Stanley.

Join leading fossil experts on Friday 17 July for an evening of discovery at Fossil Fishing at the Farm. Meet renowned TV palaeontologists Dr Neville Hollingworth BEM and Sally Hollingworth BEM, see exciting new finds from the latest excavation at Court Farm, and bring along your own fossils for expert identification.

The Court Farm site gained national attention in 2022 following the discovery of the remarkable three-dimensional "eye popping" Pachycormus fish, later displayed at The Museum in the Park.

The evening will include an introduction to the site, a chance to see recent discoveries and expert fossil identification. Significant finds from this year's dig will also be donated to The Museum in the Park.

• Show and tell with dig participants – see the latest finds and learn about conservation and cataloguing techniques
• Identify your fossils – bring your fossils for identification and meet the experts
