We have worked in hospitality since being teenagers. We love everything about it - the creativity it allows us to have, the ability to be part of the community, the opportunity to offer fair and we hope inspiring employment often to young people entering the work force and we know hospitality contributes hugely to the UK economy and is vital to our high streets.

We know all small businesses are struggling in the current economy but it is no secret what an incredible amount of pressure hospitality specifically is under. It makes us incredibly sad to see our beloved industry under such enormous and constantly increasing strain.

The reality is a major part of the problem is and has always been the disproportionate burden of VAT which is amongst the highest in Europe for hospitality. It is the biggest lever the government can pull - not giving hand outs but making it a fair playing field. A lot more information can be found on why this is a unique problem to hospitality and what positive impact could be made on the wider economy by reducing VAT on .together pages and they put it much better than we can.

Hospitality is uniting as one voice behind this campaign and we would really appreciate the support of everyone - customers, suppliers, friends, followers - in signing and sharing this petition and campaign.

Our high streets would be a poorer place without our many varied and vital hospitality spaces and we are seeing so many close every day in the UK, each one taking jobs, dreams and community with it. The link is in our bio
