Weekly Ochre Challenge Update 💙🚶‍♀️

First week complete, and Eves happy to say she has ticked off 10 miles, bringing her one step closer to the goal! 🙌

That means there’s now 73 miles left to complete for Ochre, our chosen charity, in memory of Jimmy Warnock.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated, supported, or cheered me on so far—it really does keep Eve motivated to get those miles done. Every step is for an incredible cause, and she is looking forward to making even more progress next week.

🏊‍♀️💙 CHAIRMAN CHALLENGE 💙🏊‍♀️

83 Miles for 83 Years of Lanark Young Farmers!

Our very own Chairperson, Eve Grierson, is dusting off the goggles, squeezing into the swim cap, and diving headfirst into a HUGE challenge… 🌊

Over the coming months, Eve will be swimming an incredible 83 miles to celebrate 83 years of Lanark Young Farmers! 🥳

For anyone wondering if she’s completely lost the plot… don’t worry! 😂 Eve is no stranger to the pool, having previously been a competitive swimmer and a qualified swimming instructor. Although we’re sure 83 miles will still test her!

This challenge is all in aid of our chosen charity for the year, Ochre – Oesophageal Cancer Charity, as we continue to honour and remember our dear friend Jimmy Warnock. 💙

So the big question is…

🤔 Will Eve make it all 83 miles?
🏊‍♀️ Will the goggles survive?
😅 Will she ever want to see a swimming pool again?

Over the weekend, our very own Katie Stevenson achieved an outstanding 3rd place in the National Photography Competition at the Highland Show! 🥉

Hope everyone has the best time at the Highland Show 🍻☀️

The Lanarkshire District would like to take this opportunity to wish all of its members heading to the Royal Highland Show this week the very best of luck! 🍀

With members competing in Handicrafts, Photography, Craftsmanship, Stockjudging, Tug of War and some showing livestock from home - it is set to be a very busy week🐄🎨

Our keen stockjudgers have been putting in the work over the last few months at practises which were very ably convened by Jane Lindsay, and they are all eager to put their skill to work on Saturday in the Stockmanship Competition✏️🐑

The 4 qualifying teams from West Area Tug of War have also been putting in a power of work over the last 2 weeks with the final push and are ready to battle it out on Saturday afternoon - make sure to head along to the ring and cheer them all on📣

Finally, we would also like to wish all members from across SAYFC who are competing in any competition this week a massive good luck🍀
