Meet Paul ā better known to everyone as DJ Paul! š§
Paul has been entertaining crowds for almost 20 years, and this September heāll be celebrating two decades behind the decks. Whether itās karaoke, birthdays, weddings or a packed Friday night at Keepers Lodge, Paulās always happiest when heās getting people on the dance floor.
Away from the DJ booth, Paul recently became a first-time dad to his daughter, Melodie, and sheās already become the centre of his world.
Before turning his attention fully to DJing, Paul spent just over five years working in drama education. While he enjoyed helping young people build confidence through performing, he eventually realised his true passion had always been music and entertaining.
Paul has been lucky enough to meet and work alongside some incredibly talented names throughout his career, a few to name would be Brian Conley, Anne-Marie, Rosemarie Ford and Sam Bailey.
A little-known fact is that Paul was even offered the opportunity to work with Erasure on tour. As tempting as it was, the pay simply wasnāt enough at the time, so he decided to continue building his own successful DJ business instead.
When it comes to music, Paul has a real soft spot for the 70s and what he proudly calls āDad Rockā. From Meat Loaf and Queen to Status Quo and classic rock anthems, itās his happy place⦠although heāll always play to the crowd and make sure thereās something for everyone.
When heās not playing music, youāll probably find Paul watching a horror film or diving into the worlds of Doctor Who and Star Wars. Heās even built up an impressive collection of horror film prop replicas over the years!
One thing that surprises many people is that Paul is good friends with Meat Loafās band, as well as Leicesterās own legendary Showaddywaddy ā proving his love of music goes far beyond the DJ booth.
If you spot Paul around Keepers Lodge, donāt be shy! Whether you fancy chatting about music, horror films, Doctor Who or the latest Star Wars series, heās always happy for a conversation⦠just donāt blame us if you get him started talking about Meat Loaf! š¤šø
