🌟 Meet the Community 🌟

Meet Alice, Emily & Jess!

Meet three amazing women who have made Keepers Lodge their go-to place to relax, enjoy great food and soak up the live entertainment.

Alice (20), Emily (24) and Jess (24) are familiar faces you’ll often spot here at weekends. Alice and Emily are sisters, while Emily and Jess have been together for nine years and are due to tie the knot in August 2027. Congratulations from all of us! 💍

These three are incredibly talented and passionate in what they do.

Emily is a professional football coach at Nottingham Forest Girls Academy, while Alice is also a professional football coach working for a private company.

Jess works with adults with disabilities, helping them develop vocational skills while supporting them in the care and upkeep of horses.

Their achievements don’t stop there either!

Emily has a Master’s degree in Data Science.

Alice has a degree in Health & Wellbeing in Society and a Bachelor’s degree in Maths.

Jess has a degree in Zoo Biology.

When it comes to drinks, Alice enjoys a double Grey Goose & Lemonade, Emily’s favourite is a Guinness, and Jess loves an Old Mout Berries & Cherries.

Although they live in Ratby, they’ve made Keepers Lodge their home away from home. Whether it’s enjoying a meal, listening to live music or simply having a laugh with the bar staff, they’re always up for a good chat and plenty of banter.

Thank you, Alice, Emily and Jess, for being such a wonderful part of the Keepers Lodge community. We love having you with us and look forward to seeing you for many more weekends to come. ❤️

🌟 Meet the Community 🌟

Meet Dave… better known as Rocker Dave! 🤘

Rocker Dave has been part of the Keepers Lodge family for over 20 years, and he’s one of those familiar faces we’re always pleased to see walk through the door.

If Leicester City are on the TV, you can almost guarantee Dave will be here cheering them on. He’s also a regular at our Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo and our new Sticky ‘13’ game, and he often turns up with little treats for the staff, a gesture that’s always appreciated.

Last autumn, Dave sadly lost his close friend Graham after more than 40 years of friendship. Since then, Keepers Lodge has continued to be a place where he can meet new people, make new friends and enjoy good company. That’s what our community is all about.

When it comes to food, Dave’s favourites include pizza, pasta and scampi, while his drink of choice is a nice, cold Carlsberg. 🍺

And if you’ve ever joined us for Sunday Funday with DJ Paul, you’ll probably have seen Rocker Dave grabbing the microphone and giving it everything he’s got! 🎤

🌟 Meet the Community 🌟

Meet Marlene!

At 87 years young, Marlene is one of the true heartbeats of Keepers Lodge. She’s been part of our family for over 20 years, and we honestly couldn’t imagine the place without her.

She’s so loved around here that it’s not just the staff who call her Nanna, our customers do too!

Before retiring, Marlene worked as an accountant for a bookmakers for 20 years. Away from Keepers, she’s a proud great-grandma to eight great-grandchildren and loves nothing more than spending quality time with them, especially on their little date nights together.

When we closed for our refurbishment, every time we bumped into Marlene she would say, “I just want to come home.” That meant the world to us and reminded us just how special Keepers Lodge is to so many people.

When it comes to food, you can’t beat fish & chips in Marlene’s eyes, and she enjoys a nice glass of white wine… just don’t offer her a Chardonnay!

You’ll usually find Marlene sitting on Table 26 in the comfy chairs with her daughter Ann (who’ll be featuring in our Meet the Community series very soon!).

Whether she’s visiting on her own or with family, Marlene always walks through our doors with a warm smile, says hello to everyone, and makes the pub feel that little bit brighter.

Thank you, Marlene, for making Keepers Lodge your home from home. We’re so grateful to have you as part of our community. ❤️

✨ Meet the Community ✨

Meet Paul – better known to everyone as DJ Paul! 🎧

Paul has been entertaining crowds for almost 20 years, and this September he’ll be celebrating two decades behind the decks. Whether it’s karaoke, birthdays, weddings or a packed Friday night at Keepers Lodge, Paul’s always happiest when he’s getting people on the dance floor.

Away from the DJ booth, Paul recently became a first-time dad to his daughter, Melodie, and she’s already become the centre of his world.

Before turning his attention fully to DJing, Paul spent just over five years working in drama education. While he enjoyed helping young people build confidence through performing, he eventually realised his true passion had always been music and entertaining.
Paul has been lucky enough to meet and work alongside some incredibly talented names throughout his career, a few to name would be Brian Conley, Anne-Marie, Rosemarie Ford and Sam Bailey.

A little-known fact is that Paul was even offered the opportunity to work with Erasure on tour. As tempting as it was, the pay simply wasn’t enough at the time, so he decided to continue building his own successful DJ business instead.

When it comes to music, Paul has a real soft spot for the 70s and what he proudly calls “Dad Rock”. From Meat Loaf and Queen to Status Quo and classic rock anthems, it’s his happy place… although he’ll always play to the crowd and make sure there’s something for everyone.

When he’s not playing music, you’ll probably find Paul watching a horror film or diving into the worlds of Doctor Who and Star Wars. He’s even built up an impressive collection of horror film prop replicas over the years!

One thing that surprises many people is that Paul is good friends with Meat Loaf’s band, as well as Leicester’s own legendary Showaddywaddy – proving his love of music goes far beyond the DJ booth.

If you spot Paul around Keepers Lodge, don’t be shy! Whether you fancy chatting about music, horror films, Doctor Who or the latest Star Wars series, he’s always happy for a conversation… just don’t blame us if you get him started talking about Meat Loaf! 🎤🎸
