Caffeina Cafe

Caffeina Cafe We are a community cafe managed by volunteers, looking to provide a welcoming environment to all.

Caffeina has come about from the vision of a group of like minded local people who have a passion for Pennington Hall Park. We are great believers in community spirit and working for the good and benefit of each other. Four years ago we approached the Friends of Pennington Hall Park to ask about opening a cafe within the building that was barely used, only to find out that building work had just b

egun for the tea rooms. After the Tea Rooms closed and offers for a Community Asset Transfer were requested, it was something that we knew we had to apply for to ensure that the park continued with a great asset. We believe that communities should be brought together and local businesses should support and promote each other. We look forward to Caffeina becoming a much valued hub of the community.

With just a couple days to go before Paul Sargent & Sankey & Monks Funeral Directors host a service of Remembrance for the victims of the Manchester Arena bombing that took place on 22nd May 2017.

On Friday 22nd May 2026 it will be the 9th anniversary of the tragic event, we are hosting a short service of Remembrance in Pennington Park at 12pm by the memorial stone and tree.

There will be short speeches from Paul Sargent, Tony Mather civil celebrant, Reverend Jack Shepherd of Christchurch Pennington, Jo Platt as well as observing a poignant two minutes silence.

Everybody is welcome to join us to remember and to reflect this somber remembrance of a truly horrific night

The running of the service hopefully is as follows.

1. Piper will play prior to the start of the service

3. Opening by Paul Sargent Funeral Director at Sankey and Monks

3. Words & thoughts from Tony Mather

4. Prayers and thoughts from Reverend Jack Shepherd Christchurch Pennington

5. "This is the place" poem read by Gary Smith?

6. Reading of the names by Paul Sargent

7. Two minute silence initiated by Tony Mather, flowers will be placed by the stone by PS

8. Piper may play at the end of the two minutes silence briefly

9. Jo Platt MP to offer some words and thoughts

10. Closing of service with final thoughts of reflection from Tony Mather

11. Piper to play at the end of the service to close out.

Westleigh Lodge are looking for old, unwanted wellies so they can decorate the residents garden with potted Forget-Me-Nots. Many residents have dementia and this will help to brighten their environment. Wellies can be dropped off at Caffeina or directly with Gemma at the carehome.

Happy 21st Codie. Enjoy the day and have the best holiday. Love from all the Caffeina Team ❤️😍❤️

Sharing this as it totally mirrors our beliefs here at Caffeina - we are a community cafe and consider ourselves a safe space for anyone and everyone. Hate is not on our menu!

Yesterday we had an incident in the bar.

We're pretty disgusted by it and we're gutted that it happened in our bar (as we're woke, lefty, liberal do gooders and we're proud), we'd like to extend our apologies to the family that had to suffer the indignity of their paths crossing with bigots, we really do strive to make the bar a safe space

Jago, our team member dealt with the men as soon as he realised what was happening,
As the men left (were kicked out by Jago) one of them said
"Come on, we're getting kicked out for our views"
I'd like it to stand on record that that is exactly why they were kicked out.
If your views are racist, dont come
If your views are homophobic, dont come
If your views are misogynistic or misandrist, dont come
If your views are transphobic, dont come.

If you have wound up in our bar and you hold those views, keep your damn mouth shut.
There's loads to talk about that cant be labled a hate crime, stick to those easy and numerous topics (and ni-one will ever find out that youre terrible).

We dont care if you think we're the thought police for telling you that hate crimes will not be tolerated in our establishment.
We are a freehouse, you're on our property and we sell a controlled substance. Youre here by consent and not by right, cross any lines that we dont consent to and you can find somewhere else to drink immediately.

Racist?

Drink - somewhere else.
