CELEBRATING TWENTY YEARS OF MACH IN THE CITY, YOUR CITY OF LINCOLN ‧₊˚ ☁️⋅♡🪐༘⋆

MACH 2006 - 2026

2006 Fuelled by Dominoes pizza and a lot of hope, a dream and the two of us in our twenties, would we stand out? Hell would we even last a year? Would our food carry that ‘punch’ we both invisioned? Would Lincoln like our South Asian Rubies, would they be ok with us not adding red colour to our Tandoori Tikka’s? Will they even like us?

I think we’ve done a lot since then, none of it easy.

We were faced with criticism by those that called us unauthentic, but our local villages allowed us newbies to make mistakes with patience and kindness, they kept returning and we kept making. We chose that patience as our guide and cancelled the negative noise. We can’t tell you how fast the years went by from that first day we opened, that day when the queue of people double tailed around our carpark with people happy to wait. We were terrified and excited and rightly so.

With all the challenges we have been faced whilst also raising our small family we have exhaled and arrived a fair distance since that February of 2006, WE ARE STILL HERE and 20 years older honouring our roots, our love letter to South Asian cuisine, presented to Lincoln.

We have never been fancy, or loud, we have been consistent and the letters in the name are almost always on site. We have survived this tough industry thus far and boy has there been some humbling challenges along the way, even in hardship we have always looked out for our team, after all it’s because of them we are able to do this at all.

So on our 20th year we hope these notes we share with you make you smile, make you feel a part of our journey. Thank you and thank you 1000, for coming, for leaving our doors with slightly heavier tummies and bigger smiles each time you visit, for we are nothing without you making our space an absolute VIBE.

Family, friends and others that have clapped and screamed the loudest through it all THANK YOU.

WE ARE GRATEFUL TO STILL BE HERE it’s never lost on us. 🧿🫡
