🎂 Birthday post incoming… and yes, food is involved because… me 😅

So today was my birthday 🎉 and honestly… my family know me far too well 😂

This morning I woke up to my daughters singing me Happy Birthday and bringing me hot banana bread straight from the oven to my bed 🥹🍌🍞 (yes… warm, GF,homemade, still steaming 😍). My little girls are definitely turning into bakers like their mum and I’m secretly VERY proud… although slightly worried I may have future competition 👀😂

And because clearly I’m extremely spoiled 🙈, my partner arrived with a hot coffee in bed (the way to my heart ☕️) and later made me my favourite cake AGAIN, just like last year ❤️ He wasn’t overly happy with how it turned out this year (typical perfectionist 😅), but honestly? It was so good.. and I ate way too much from it🙈

Now… talking of cake and afternoon teas…

As many of you know, at Our Coffee Shop, afternoon teas are a BIG thing for us. I bake A LOT, I’m picky with quality, and I genuinely care what people get for their money.

And because I’m forever on a mission to find somewhere where I can sit down and think:
“YES! Finally! Somewhere as good… or even better than ours!” 👏

I’ve tried places all over Wirral… and now beyond too 👀

Without being mean (because I genuinely don’t like putting other places down ❤️), I still haven’t found anywhere that comes close to the quality, quantity, freshness and value for money we offer at Our Coffee Shop.

And trust me… I’ve REALLY tried 😅

Today’s birthday tea adventure costs 50% more than ours, and even if I genuinely thought this will be the one!!..the difference in cakes, sandwiches, portions and overall offering was honestly quite shocking 🙈 (I’ll let the photos/video do the talking 😂📸)

Maybe it’s because I’m too fussy. Maybe because I’m a baker. Or maybe because after nearly 8 years, I still care too much about making sure people leave full, happy and feeling like they got proper value ❤️

Anyway… enough birthday rambling 😂

Thank you to everyone who supports our little family business — every coffee, cake, brunch and afternoon tea means more than you know 🥹❤️

Next weekend we are treating well our dad, father figures, granddads, the men that show up for their kids every single day ❤️ They deserve the world and the best treat for Father’s Day, like our homemade Special Edition Afternoon Tea. Served in on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th of June. Takeaway only on Sunday 21st of June, collection between 12:00-2:00 pm. Bookings only via our Facebook / Instagram messenger. ❤️

One Gluten Free delicious cake fully ready for tomorrow .. as I haven’t made this for a while so I was excited to have it done already to show you, is our Pistachio, Raspberry and White Chocolate cake 😍 One of my very favourites..
while the rest are still cooling, back in the morning to fill them up and be ready for you to enjoy tomorrow😍
Bed time now ( for the kids obviously.. so need to get back home😆) 😘
