, indeed Admiral Lord Nelson used the hotel on more than one occasion, and the hotel’s primary suite his now named in his honour. Situated in the shadow of the ruined 13th century Llandovery Castle, which in turn was built above the confluence between two rivers, the hotel affords great views of the castle ruin and impressive statue of Llywelyn ap Gruffydd Fychan

The hotel boasts a range of rooms to suit every budget, from rooms with four poster beds and bespoke bathrooms, to practical family rooms, perfect for groups on a budget and is an ideal base to explore Llandovery, the surrounding countryside, hiking trails, waterfalls and the breathtaking Welsh landscapes including the Bannau Brycheiniog, otherwise known as the Brecon Beacons National Park

The Castle Hotel has the atmosphere of a traditional Welsh Coaching Inn offering everything you need for a relaxing stay with extensive choices of gastro pub food, open fires, great beer options and quality wine choices, and since coming under new ownership in 2021 has seen widespread redecoration and upgrade program, with a great team delivering a friendly and professional welcome, no mater how long your visit.
