With Wimbledon coming to a close today, the World Cup madness and a historic UK heatwave, we wanted to take a second to share our thoughts on why not just our pub, but all pubs, are such a vital part of UK culture, community and belonging, and why they deserve to be protected.

Pubs have always been so much more than somewhere to grab a pint. They’re where friendships are made, birthdays are celebrated, first dates happen, families come together for Sunday lunch, strangers become neighbours and unforgettable moments are shared. They give people somewhere to connect, laugh, celebrate, commiserate and simply feel part of something.

This summer has been a perfect reminder of that. From packed beer gardens and roaring crowds watching every point and every try, to those quieter moments catching up over a drink in the sunshine, we’ve watched thousands of memories being made within our four walls.

None of this would be possible without our incredible team.

To everyone who has worked through the heat, the busy services, the long shifts and the never-ending flow of customers with a smile on their face, thank you. Your hard work, kindness and energy are what make this place feel special. You don’t just serve food and drinks, you create the atmosphere, the welcome and the experience that keeps people coming back.

To every member of our team, and to everyone working in pubs across the UK, thank you for everything you do. You are the heartbeat of our communities, and we’re incredibly proud to work alongside you.
