Thinking about performing at an open mic but feeling nervous? You’re not alone 🎤

Last week we held our first Making Friends with the Mic workshop to support people in making this first step. The 5 key takeaways from our first session were:

🌿 1. Nerves are normal: you are not alone
Most people feel anxious about performing, even if they look confident. This workshop helps you understand your nerves and how to work with them.
🧠 2. Simple self-calming tools
Try practical exercises you can use before and during performing to steady yourself.
🎭 3. Build confidence through small, safe steps. Take part in fun, low-pressure activities designed to gently grow your confidence.
🤝 4. Supportive space, zero pressure
A warm, welcoming group where you can join in as much or as little as you like.
🎶 5. Find your voice, your way
It’s not about being perfect. It’s about expressing yourself as you are 😊

- A welcoming café space in Golders Green — with the option to hire the café for private events and business meetings.
