Because some things matter more than paint drying.
We’ve taken the decision to ease off the tools (slightly) and lean into the football. With England flying the flag, it didn’t feel right to wrap the place in scaffolding and shut the doors just as everyone’s looking for somewhere to watch it all unfold.
Our pubs aren’t just buildings, they’re where people gather, shout at screens, hug strangers and believe (just for a moment) that it might actually be coming home. We’re not missing that.
So instead of a full stop, the refurb is now running on a bit of a half-time schedule. You’ll see works phasing in and out between games, a light touch here, a quiet shift there, keeping disruption low and the doors open when it counts.
We’ve still got plenty of exciting changes on the way, but for now it’s about cold pints, loud rooms, and somewhere you know you can rely on to catch every minute.
