Before becoming a mum, I thought 10+ years in business had taught me everything I needed to know.

Then my toddler arrived.

He’s taught me patience.

To celebrate the little wins.

To ask “why?” more often.

To be fully present.

To say “no” without guilt.

And most importantly…

He’s reminded me why I started building a business in the first place.

Not to be busy.

Not to work every weekend.

But to create a life where I don’t have to choose between success and the people I love.

Nobody tells you this when you start a catering business.

You think the hardest part is getting your first booking.

Then you get the bookings…

…and realise the real challenge is keeping your standards high as you grow.

Ten years ago, I worried about whether anyone would hire me.

Today, I think about systems.

Profit.

Building a business that doesn’t rely on me being everywhere at once.

Creating a life where my family gets the best of me, not what’s left of me after another 14-hour day.

The problems never disappear.

They just change.

And that’s actually a good sign.

Because it means you’ve grown.

Don’t wish for fewer problems.
