🌟 We’re delighted to share some fantastic news! 🌟
Yesterday, the Magor & Undy Community Fridge received an unannounced inspection from Monmouthshire’s Environmental Health team, who carried out a thorough inspection of every aspect of our operation.
We’re incredibly proud to announce that we’ve once again retained our 5 Food Hygiene Rating! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This achievement belongs to our amazing team of volunteers. While people see the fridge open each Friday, there’s so much that happens behind the scenes to make it all possible. Volunteers spend countless hours collecting surplus food from our generous suppliers, often driving many miles at all hours of the day and night. They prepare rotas, monitor food safety, clean and maintain the fridges and room, keep the accounts up to date, liaise with local businesses and suppliers, manage our social media, and, most importantly, welcome and serve our lovely visitors with kindness, warmth and a smile.
Every single one of those jobs matters, and every volunteer plays a vital role in making the Community Fridge the success it is.
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers for your dedication, enthusiasm and hard work, and to our fantastic suppliers for their continued generosity and support. Together we’re rescuing good food, reducing waste, supporting local people and building a stronger community.
We’re so proud of what we’ve achieved together. Here’s to many more five-star Fridays! 💚⭐
