A day ‘off’ as I like to call it 😍
I looked at things slightly differently today & it got me thinking…
We HAD to go to fort William on grazebox deliveries BUT I wasn’t in the kitchen so although Lily made it a 5am start I still got to have breakfast at home, have time to shower and dry my hair to resemble nothing far from hagrid.
We HAD to deliver our corporate catering to Spean and we HAD to go to the railyard for stock take & deliveries in our containers BUT it meant we could stop for cakes on the way to take home for later.
We HAD to go into town for business banking BUT it meant whilst there we could go out for a rare lunch together as a family and take Lilz shoe shopping.
We HAD to go shopping and get some stock for work BUT it meant I could do our family food shop at the same time and take Lily to softplay.
In between this I HAD to pay invoices, deal with customers, submit receipts, reply to emails, sort staff, stock, orders, card machine issues & phone calls once I got home BUT it meant I could cook dinner and eat it with my family, do the rotas on the laptop whilst in the comfort of my own home with my feet up.
I smirk a little when people see me outside of work ‘oh day off today brogs!’🤣🙈unless you’ve experienced this you won’t understand.
Running businesses alters any form of reality you once knew. I’m embarrassed to say I’d struggle to be away from my phone or Apple Watch and it’s robbed a lot of peace from my life😵💫 being present & having a clear mind is genuinely not possible right now, we are back up to 28 employees and still short staffed 😭 Having so many moving parts and people involved that require a little something from you so often in a day does something to your nervous system I will never be able to explain 😅 (in a normal world the chaotic three year old & pregnancy should be enough for anyone)🤣 BUT weirdly I feel kind of rested and like my cup is refilled after my day ‘off’ today 🥰🤣
Is that weird?! am I okay?🤣😅 business owners you can relate right🙆🏼♀️
