The Barking Dog Alehouse & Kitchen has taken over the glorious former post office in Urmston. Purpose built in 1939, this beautiful building has been lovingly restored retaining much of the original character, whilst at the same time making it a proper pub (it even has a snug!)
We employ locally, and support other local businesses. Regarding drinks expect plenty of cask ales, craft beers, fine wines and a good gin menu, as well as quality coffees.

At 1:15am we were woken by the dreaded call... the intruder alarm was going off. We rushed down to the pub expecting the worst... only to find absolutely nothing.
Fast forward to 4:30am... ring ring... the alarm was going off again! 🤦‍♂️
Another mad dash to the pub, another search... all looked perfectly normal. Then... movement in the corner of my eye! I nearly jumped out of my skin... only to discover our very own tiny feathered burglar perched up on the curtain rail. 🐤
Cue 20 minutes of chasing a very unimpressed little bird around the pub before finally escorting our unexpected overnight guest back outside. Safe to say, it wasn't quite the intruder we were expecting! 😂
