You guys have only gone and done it again, day 2 of Maryport Live was another incredible day thanks to our amazingly talented musicians Jackson/Aitken Acoustic and Jamie Williams - Musician. We felt like we were at a mini concert, the atmosphere was electric and you guys singing back to them at the top of your lungs gave us goosebumps. We know how hardcore you all are and you will be raring to go for day 3, that’s why we have lined up another fantastic day for you all:

The unsung hero of the day goes to Stuart at Maryport Born and Bread for fuelling our staff and musicians today. Not all hero’s wear capes they wear bakers aprons 🦸‍♂️!! We are in sausage roll heaven (yes there is three layers in that box, yes they are still warm and yes we have already sampled one 🤣). We still feel you could have made the 300 we asked for but we will let it slide this time 😉🤣. We do appreciate you doing it for us as we know it’s a busy day for you guys too. What an incredible start to Maryport Live at the Captain Nelson yesterday. Thanks to the fabulous Jenny Ball for being phenomenal as always. The atmosphere was wonderful as was everyone that joined us. Thanks for respecting us, each other and yourselves 💕. We have another fantastic day planned today:

Where’s Captain Nelson? Since going on his travels with our wonderful friends aboard HMS Raider, Nelson is back helping to keep our waters safe with our amazing Royal Navy. Here’s the latest update we have received:

Photo 1: Captain Nelson is up in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 near Ailsa Craig where the Olympic Curling 🥌 stone comes from. He is still loving it at sea back with the Royal Navy again.

Change of act here tonight at the award winning Captain Nelson. The Liverpudlian musical maestro himself Daniel Lange will be joining us from 7:30pm. Who knows what new instrument he has learned to play this week (yes he’s one of those annoying people that talent just comes naturally 💁‍♀️) The dancefloor awaits and he’s one definitely not to be missed 🕺🏻💃🏻🍾🥂🍻.

Well its been a fantastic journey with the England team but it wasn’t meant to be so as Oasis said ‘wipe that tear away now from your eye’ and get yourselves to your award winning pub for another weekend of fabulousness. If your like us and a roast is your favourite meal in spring, summer, autumn and winter we have a treat this Friday. The amazing Cumbria ROAST company are bringing their Yorkshire pudding wraps to the Captain Nelson beer garden from 3pm!! If you haven’t tried these guys you really don’t know what you’ve been missing 🤤.

Your weekend wouldn’t be complete without an amazing offering of music from us and as always we deliver 💁‍♀️.

Friday 17th sees the return of the extremely talented Steven Purdham to entertain you all (and there maybe be a little bit of Sneaky Finch banter thrown in for good measure 😉).

It’s been a while and we’ve missed her!! The fabulous Kerry Weir is pulling on the cowboy boots and hat this Saturday 18th from 8pm and we can’t wait!!

The suns set to shine, the draught, cask, wines, spirits and mixers are outstanding as standard, the atmosphere is electric and the vibes are good. Life’s pretty good when you join us at the Captain Nelson 😎.

What an incredible weekend in Maryport for the Carnival. Well done to all those involved in organising it, sponsoring it and those who came out in force to support it. An amazing job was done by the street cleaners in the early hours of Sunday, the town was spotless. Thanks to all who joined us here at the Captain Nelson, thank you for respecting us, yourselves and each other, we love you.

Teamwork makes the dream work and is at the heart of everything we do here at the Captain Nelson.

Carnival Day is one of our busiest and most demanding days of the year, and there’s simply no way we would be able to do it without the incredible support from our family and friends who give up their own time to roll up their sleeves and help us. Whether they are pouring pints, collecting glasses, keeping things tidy, or just mucking in wherever they are needed, every single person plays a part.

We know how lucky we are to have such an amazing support network behind us, and we never take it for granted. Their hard work, loyalty and belief in what we’re trying to create are a huge part of what makes the Captain Nelson the award winning pub it is today.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you all. We couldn’t do it without you, and we’re incredibly grateful to have such a brilliant team around us.

What a time to be alive!! Another monumental success for Maryport Carnival, the streets were alive with a buzz that only Maryport knows how to do and England are enroute to win the World Cup (It’s coming home 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿). Does it get any better than that? We don’t think so!!

Let’s keep the good times going today with the fabulous Aupa Street Food in the beer garden from 2pm. We aren’t saying you have delicate heads this morning but if we did this would definitely be the cure 😉.

The big screens back in the beer garden showing the Wimbledon Men’s Final from 4pm and it’s going to be another scorcher of a day. See you at your award winning pub for another day of fabulousness (we know you expect nothing less 😏).

Best of luck to every single group, float and everyone taking part in Maryport carnival today. Just by getting involved you are helping make our town the fantastic place it is, you’re all winners in our eyes 🏆.

We’re ready for an incredible day at the Captain Nelson and can’t wait to see everyone enjoying themselves and living their best lives here. To help keep things running smoothly, please bear with us and take note of the following:

We are over 18’s only all day. ID checks will be in place, please bring your ID. No ID, no entry.

🐶 No dogs will be permitted today.

🥤 All drinks will be served in plastic glasses for everyone’s safety.

🚻 Our toilets are for customers only.

☀️ The sun is set to shine, so please drink plenty of water, wear your sun cream and look after yourselves (and your mates!).

❤️ Let’s make it a day to remember for the right reasons. Please be patient with our team, respect each other and have an amazing time.

We will be showing the England game live tonight 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿.
Just a little reminder that kick-off isn’t until 10pm. With Carnival celebrations and the sunshine making for a long day we’d encourage everyone to pace themselves, stay hydrated and drink responsibly so we can all enjoy a fantastic atmosphere right through to the final whistle.
