Lunchtime update.

It's always difficult taking pictures of our window, but at least it's not done by AI. But we'll be showing the England match on Sat so why not have a 90s Indie/Rock night as well eh?

Reminder we also have our 007 James Bond quiz tonight at 7:30pm with £2pp entry as usual. You may even win a wrist watch with a lazer and coffee making included too - who knows

Quite predictably, it's very quiet around Monkseaton right now as people are making plans for the match.

So unless we get an influx of people we'll be closing at 9pm this evening, just an hour earlier than usual. We wish England the best of luck and fingers crossed there's no delays due to the weather 🤞

When we started our World Cup coverage we advised we wouldn't be showing any England games with late kick off times, so had no intention of showing the game against Mexico at 1am Monday morning.

But the last 12hrs threw a spanner in the works, only for it to fall out and the corporate FIFA machine to restart it's nonsense! It's currently confirmed the game will be at its original time. However, if this does change and is brought forward - the off course we will be showing the game. So stay tuned for updates folks.

We just hope people don't change plans, take days off work or just power through to stay up - only for it to be cancelled at half time due to storms!!!

It's Friday folks and we have a NEW BREWERY in FSTH this weekend. We welcome Luckies Brewing to the taps for the 1st time and have 3 beers from them, with LEFT FOOT DOWN 4.3% Session being the 1st beer on.

We also have Donzoko Brewery and Taproom KELLER cask beer back on too, so get your fill of this 1st cask before the recipe is changed for the next batch!!!

We're also taking part in the Coastal Summer Ale Trail with CAMRA so pop on to get your stickers to complete your trail compendium. This is a great scheme to get people to the coast visiting to great pubs we have out here, and hopefully attract newcomers and generate returning customers for all.

FSTH FEST continues today and what a big day this is. Our driving ethos was to open a craft beer venue that shakes off the flat cap, old man stigma of real/craft ale and serves craft beer whilst playing awesome music enjoyed by myself and other DJ's - who says you can't drink craft beer and listen to electronic music?

So tonight we're showing The Chemical Brothers LIVE on our big screen. I've always wanted to show this in the pub and as Glastonbury is taking a year off, it's the perfect opportunity to play it loud and proud.

Warming up for them is none other than DJ Shadow Official - Regulars will know I have a signed poster from him in the pub and it's the only true permanent fixture as we regularly change the art work in the pub - but not this. So we'll be bringing you a quick 40min live set starting at 7:20pm (approx).

So showing both these Live acts in my pub filled with great craft beer served to fantastic locals has been the dream - and today it's complete. We'll be going straight into the football after the performances so in the music, or the football - or why not both for a full festival style day out
