After & Before in Farrow and Ball Cromarty


What a difference a change of colour can make! This kitchen has gone from looking tired and dated to feeling bright, fresh and so much more spacious. It's amazing how simply changing the colour of your kitchen can completely transform the heart of your home without the expense of replacing it.

One of my favourite parts of this job is meeting so many lovely people and this client was no exception. We discovered we'd both lived in the same area of Sydney! We had a good chat reminiscing about places we remembered and even had a look around on Google Maps. It's incredible how such a big world can suddenly feel so small.

Every kitchen I paint has its own story and it's a privilege to be trusted to give them a new lease of life. Seeing the smile on a client's face when they walk into their "new" kitchen makes all the hard work worthwhile.

After and before in Farrow & Ball Wimborne White

This has been the biggest, hardest and most satisfying kitchen I've painted in the ten years I've been transforming kitchens!
Looking at the original photos, I couldn't see just how poor the previous paint job was. Once we started we discovered paint full of lumps, huge drips, doors only painted on the fronts, paint on the glass, paint on the floor and even paint all over the hinges. 😪

To make things even more challenging, my client had chosen Wimborne White, one of Farrow & Ball's thinnest colours, which takes extra care, patience and lots and lots of coats to achieve a flawless finish. Six litres of paint was used !

James worked five of the seven days it took to complete this one and what a challenge it was! Watching it slowly come together and seeing the transformation was incredibly rewarding. Every bit of hard work was worth it to achieve exactly the look my client wanted.

We were also lucky enough to be working for the loveliest, most patient family. And of course, there was Jasper! 🐾 Every day I took him treats and despite having usually just finished his breakfast, he was always ready for more. Typical Lab!

There's still one final job to be done this week. The joiner is coming back to drill new holes for the replacement handles and swap the old painted hinges for beautiful new brass ones. That's why you cansee my white paint on the existing hinges , it felt wrong getting paint on them even though they were already covered before we started!

I can't wait to see the finished touches in place. What a transformation! ❤️

What can I say about this one... I absolutely loved it!

The loveliest clients, gorgeous Buzz the dog (who made sure I was never on my own 😂 think it was the stash of treats I had) and a kitchen that was more than ready for a change after 15 years in the same colour.

Going from the blue/green to Farrow & Ball Purbeck Stone has completely transformed the space. It's fresh, modern and still suits the farmhouse perfectly. It's amazing what a change of colour can do without replacing a single cupboard.

I seem to spend a lot of my time painting farmhouse kitchens and I honestly wouldn't have it any other way. The views from this one were absolutely stunning, definitely one of the perks of the job!

A massive thank you to my lovely clients for putting their trust in me. It's never something I take for granted especially when I'm working in the heart of someone's home for several days.

After and before in Farrow and Ball Treron

This is only the second time I've painted in this beautiful colour and I have to say I absolutely love it! My client chose such a beautiful colour and it's completely transformed the look of the kitchen.

This kitchen isn't finished just yet. The kickboards are still to be fitted, a new worktop is going on, the walls will be painted in a new colour and the flooring has recently been replaced.
I can't wait to show you the completed transformation I think this one's going to look stunning! Watch this space !

After and before in Purbeck Stone

My client originally wanted a brand new kitchen, but after a few unexpected house expenses cropped up, it was time to think of another plan.

With a fresh coat of Purbeck Stone, new handles, and a brand new worktop, we completely transformed the space for a fraction of the cost of replacing the kitchen.

The result? A kitchen that looks and feels brand new without the expense and disruption of a full renovation !

The best part of this project was discovering that my client and I had worked for the same company nearly 30 years ago, just in different departments! When the booking came through, I thought I recognised the name and it turns out I did! 😊

My client decided to be brave and step away from the lighter shades, choosing the bold and beautiful Farrow and Ball Railings for their kitchen transformation.

This deep, rich colour has completely changed the feel of the room creating a sophisticated and timeless look while still allowing the space to feel bright thanks to the abundance of natural light.

This project certainly wasn't without its challenges and involved a lot of hard work, but the finished result was well worth the effort. The contrast, depth and elegance that Railings brings to the room really make a statement.

From tired cream to beautiful silvery Pavilion Gray
My clients wanted to refresh their kitchen with a softer, more modern look and what a transformation it has been!

They were away for the week and popped home midway through the project, after seeing the kitchen, they decided they wanted the utility room painted too. We must have made quite the impression!
