🌸 🌿 Plant of the Week with Dave! 🌿🌸

This week, Dave is shining the spotlight on the stunning Allium – a real summer showstopper that's loved by both gardeners and pollinators alike! 🐝💜

Featured in this week's video are two fantastic varieties:
✨ Allium 'Millenium'
✨ Allium 'Norbet'

Both produce beautiful globe-shaped flowers that add long-lasting colour, structure and plenty of interest to your borders.

Dave also gives us a quick look at two gorgeous Echinacea varieties that pair perfectly with them:

🌼 Delicious Candy

We're thrilled to announce that our Sand Pit & Children's Play Area is NOW OPEN! 🎉🏖️

🤠 WOW... what a day! 🤠

We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to every single one of you who came along and supported our Summer Hoedown this weekend. ❤️

Considering we were in the middle of a heatwave, we honestly feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing customers. The temperatures may have been more Wild West than we'd planned 🤠☀️, but that certainly didn't stop you from coming out, joining in the fun and making it such a fantastic day.

A massive shoutout also goes to our incredible team. They worked tirelessly from start to finish to bring the event together, and we couldn't be prouder of everything they did.

We'd also like to thank everyone who helped make the day that little bit extra special:
🐴 Zoe's Party Animals – and thank you for your understanding with the last-minute time change. We're sorry we couldn't give everyone more notice, but the welfare of the animals always comes first.
🎤 Rhys Evans for keeping the atmosphere going with fantastic live music.
🤠 Little Princess Palace for bringing Woody & Jessie along for some magical meet-and-greets.

🤠🌵 The wait is almost over... our Summer Hoedown is TOMORROW! 🌵🤠

We're so excited to welcome you all to Jacksdale Garden Centre for a fantastic day of family fun!

From live music and amazing animals to delicious food, food & drink tastings, Woody & Jessie, and so much more, we can't wait to see everyone enjoying everything we have planned.

🎉 A quick event update:
Zoe's Party Animals will now be with us from 10:00am - 1:00pm and, to keep both our furry friends and our visitors comfortable, they'll be located in our Seasonal Barn, where it's nice and cool.

☀️ Yes... we know we're in the middle of a heatwave! The good news is tomorrow is forecast to be around 4°C cooler than today. We'll be doing everything we can to help keep everyone as cool and hydrated as possible throughout the day.

We'll have plenty of shaded areas to enjoy where possible, and we simply ask everyone to be sensible in the heat too—bring a drink, wear sunscreen, and take breaks if you need to.

Let's face it... it's been hot all week, it's hot everywhere, and it's looking hot again next week! We can't escape it, so why not have a mosey on down and spend the day with us? 🤠🌞

This event is all about bringing our community together for a relaxed, fun-filled day for families and friends. We know many of you are planning to visit, so it may be a little busier than a normal Saturday. We kindly ask for your patience and consideration while arriving and moving around the centre so everyone can have an enjoyable day.

If our car park starts to fill up, we'll have parking assistants on hand to help guide you and keep everything running as smoothly as possible.

So grab your cowboy hats, round up the family, and join us from 9:00am - 5:00pm for a rootin' tootin' day out.

🌿 🌸 Plant of the Week with Dave – Verbena! 🌸🌿

You asked, and Dave delivered! This week he's shining the spotlight on one of our absolute summer favourites – Verbena. With its long flowering season, masses of nectar-rich blooms and incredible ability to attract bees and butterflies, it's a must-have for any sunny garden. 🐝🦋

In this week's video, Dave talks you through three fantastic varieties:

💜 Verbena bonariensis – The classic favourite, with tall, airy stems topped with clusters of vibrant purple flowers. Perfect for weaving through borders and creating that natural, cottage garden look.

🍭 Verbena bonariensis 'Lollipop' – All the charm of the classic Verbena, but in a more compact form. Ideal for smaller gardens, pots and the front of borders without losing that pollinator appeal.

🌸 Verbena Mixed – A beautiful blend of complementary shades, creating a colourful two-tone display that's perfect for adding long-lasting summer colour.

☀️ Top Care Tips:
• Plant in full sun.
• Prefers moist but well-drained soil.
• Deadhead spent blooms to encourage even more flowers.
• Great for borders, wildlife gardens and containers.
• Flowers from summer right through into autumn.
