Hey Beeston Besties!

I just wanted to let you know that I (Dee) am running a seasonal lino printing workshop this weekend, at Ford and Guy. It's a great workshop for people with any level of printing experience, and at the end of it, not only have you had an amazing time, but you get to go home with prints of all of your amazing artwork. Also, because accessibility is *always* at the forefront of what I do, there are adaptive tools and techniques available and encouraged for those who are unable to access traditional block printing methods.

Hey Dog & Bean buddies, long time no speak!

Dee here, I thought I'd pop on and say hi, and keep you up to date with what your favourite dog-café people are getting up to these days :)

Joy, Nottingham's premiere dog chef has gone back to her roots, and it working in a human kitchen once again. She's doing amazing, and running a really tight ship, we're super proud of her! If you miss her baking, you can catch her every third Wednesday running a peripatetic café with Dee for the Beeston Tales storytelling group.

Rory took his GCSEs this summer, and absolutely smashed them, so he's now deep in the trenches of 6th form. We couldn't be prouder!!

In fact, just yesterday Kate helped to rescue a beautiful dog who was at risk of being PTS simply because she was abandoned. Kate, like Joy and Rory is absolutely crushing it out there!!

Dee had a break for a while, after some personal losses, but is finally getting back out there. They're running some really cool art workshops at Ford & Guy, as well as getting back into art and printmaking. You can see their stuff over on insta, https://www.instagram.com/hellothisisdeeart/
They're also running the peripatetic cafe for Beeston Tales, so if you miss their coffee and lemon drizzle cakes, it's the third Wednesday of every month

Juno, of course, is living her best life. While she hasn't opened her own shop yet, that's only because she's not yet 1 and can't write her name to sign the contracts. For now she content to be an influencer, lifestyle coach to her humans, and of course, an instagram model.

Hi Beeston pups and humans, long time no speak! We hope you are all doing well.

We've been recovering and sorting things out generally. We have a lot of the ex cafe equipment in storage at the moment, and we need to get it cleared out asap. Most of it is being sold on marketplace or ebay, but we have a couple of items we wanted to offer to you first.

First, we have the leather loveseat that used to be in the cafe window, modelled here by the handsome Reinhardt. We know this was a much loved item, so we wondered if anyone would be interested in having it. There are a few scratches but it's in reasonable condition, and you'll remember that it's very comfortable. It's yours for £20, but the catch is that it needs to be collected from the storage unit in NG6. It's big so you would definitely need a van.

Second, we have the leather sofa, modelled here by the gorgeous Max. This is low to the ground as the feet had to be removed to get it through a doorway. It also has a little cosmetic damage, but it's perfect for a dog or child's room. £10 collected from NG6.

First come first served on each of these - just leave a comment and we can arrange collection. Thank you!

Hi lovely friends. We are sadly moving all our kit out of the café today and tomorrow. We could really use a few pairs of hands to help pack and move stuff. Today until mid afternoon, tomorrow from 11am until we finish. Even half an hour of your time would be helpful, of anyone is free? Thank you so much

Hello doggy darlings and their humans,

Today is our last day, and to continue the string of calamities that has befallen us, the coffee machine has exploded!

We'll be open from 12ish until 5ish with our breakfast menu, and doing our best with drinks.

We hope to see your lovely faces one last time! Come and sign Dee's scrap book, grab a hug, and let them make a friendship bracelet for you 🙂

Dear Friends, fans and four-legged companions,

We wish we had better news, and a more cheerful update for you, but unfortunately today's post is probably the hardest we've ever had to make.

Dog & Bean is closing down. Our last day will be this Sunday, 14th May.

We won't be open today or tomorrow, but we hope that you'll join us at the weekend to say goodbye, and for us to be able to see your beautiful faces (and beautiful dogs!) one more time.

We're all devastated, and we're going to miss the wonderful community that we've built together over the past year. We're also going to miss all of the community events we ran. Most of all, though, we're going to miss the people and the dogs that came to see us every day.

If you contributed to the indiegogo, we want you to know that we intend to fulfil as many of the rewards as we can, but unfortunately, the ones that rely on the physical space of the café being available are going to be impossible for us to do. We hope you understand.

Sorry pals, kindness cafe is not on today, although we are still a very kind cafe, it's just that Joy is only in charge of what goes into doggy bellies here, and has no idea what goes on in their doggy minds (I mean look at Juno in this picture, no idea why she lay on me like this stared at me for a full 10 minutes like I owe her money)

REGULAR CAFE STILL OPEN! WE HAVE CAKE!

Sorry folks, due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to close early today.

We will be in tomorrow for those who have ordered cakes to collect them, and will resume normal service/opening on Saturday, from 10-6pm for all your human and doggo food needs.

The month of May marks 1 year of Dog&Bean fully opened, so I made a cake to celebrate! We are open for our usual hours this week of 10am-6pm, Wednesday-Sunday, come join us for a slice of birthday cake, or a pupcake if you have four paws and a waggy tail 🐶
