Welcome to another 1986 in Mexico! You can talk about “cheating” all you like, but England are coming, and we’ll see what happens on the pitch. England all the way! 🏴⚽
A huge thank you to every single one of my customers who respected the 10pm condition by taking their drinks inside. There was no trouble, no violence, no police intervention, just decent people acting responsibly. That’s because we’ve built a community based on mutual respect, not fear. -unlike the Oldham Council- you what to play let’s go to the play ground.
The central government wants England fans to support and enjoy the team, yet you just want ant to make it hard for hospitality industry- do one - not scared of you let’s go to court.
I have built multiple busines all around the community and the f you want to take me n cos I provide the hat you can’t!! Let’s do it.
Oldham Council should take note. This is what happens when local businesses work with their customers instead of against them.
I’ve spent years trying to work constructively with the Council, but instead of supporting independent businesses that bring people together, it feels like they’ve chosen bureaucracy over common sense and confrontation over cooperation.
On one of the biggest football nights in years, with England in a World Cup semi-final, I was expected to tell hundreds of people they couldn’t enjoy a drink in the beer garden after 10pm. Anyone with real-world experience knows that’s far more likely to create tension than prevent it. My legal duty is to promote public safety and prevent crime and disorder—and that’s exactly what I did.
The result speaks for itself: no incidents, no arrests, no police intervention, and a safe, respectful atmosphere all evening.
If Oldham Council genuinely believes I’ve breached my licence, then stop hiding behind paperwork and take me to court. I’ll happily stand before a judge and explain exactly why I made the decisions I did and let the facts speak for themselves.
Local businesses deserve support, not endless restrictions that make no practical sense. Residents deserve decision-makers who understand the communities they’re supposed to represent.
I’m done apologising for building a venue where people feel welcome, safe and respected. If standing up for my customers means standing up to the Council, then that’s exactly what I’ll do.
See you in court.
And before I go to court, kick these idiots out of our town
