This one’s a bit of a long one, so grab a brew… or a portion of chips! 🍟
Did you know that the vast majority of fish & chip shops now serve frozen fish? We don’t blame them—fresh fish prices have gone through the roof, and it’s become incredibly difficult for many businesses. Sadly, it’s one of the reasons so many chippies have disappeared over the years.
Not us though. We’re stubborn… in a good way. 😅
From the day we opened our doors, we’ve only ever served fresh fish, and that’s something we’re incredibly proud of. It’s one of our core values, and we don’t plan on changing it anytime soon.
Our fish is caught, skinned, b***d and filleted before making its way to us, then it’s on your plate within just a matter of days. No long holidays in the freezer. 🐟
The same goes for our potatoes. They come straight from the farm, get washed, peeled and chipped fresh, and before they know it they’re living their best life wrapped up with your Friday tea. 🥔
In a world full of shortcuts, processed ingredients and cutting corners, we’d rather keep doing things properly. It might cost us a bit more, but we think you can taste the difference.
So the next time you’re tucking into your fish & chips, just remember… your fish has probably travelled less than some people do on their summer holidays. 😂
