The Cedar Hotel has been newly renovated in 2020 by the three sisters of the Millar Family. It was previously known as The Hunting Lodge which was a successful hotel for 30 years. Before this, it was a school house which first opened in 1888. We have renovated the hotel to the highest standard and brought a bit of country chic to the area. The Hotel itself is situated in

the foothills of the Sperrin mountains in Ireland’s County Tyrone, on the land of Baronscourt Estate, home to the Duke of Abercorn’s family since 1612. Among a handful of old family estates in the British Isles, Baronscourt combines great historical and architectural interest with a landscape of outstanding natural beauty. The surrounding area provides an oasis of peace and tranquillity, as well as plenty of activities to get the blood pumping. The hotel contains 15 en-suite bedrooms, each of which has been designed to retain the feel and charm of the countryside with the comfort of modern facilities. Many of the rooms offer wonderful views across the forest. All rooms are equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a flat screen TV and complimentary Wi-Fi. The Sika 1888 Restaurant is named after the the local deer and the date of the opening of the original school house. Our newly-renovated restaurant seats up to 60 pax, serving evening meals and sunday lunch weekly. Our bar, Thirsty Duck, serves up a fine collection of beers, spirits and wines from all over the world. It gives a cosy and country feel, steeped in rich leather and tartan patterns, ideal for coming back from those outdoor walks and cosying up to a large fire. We pride ourselves on supporting locally so you will only find seasonal and fresh produce being served, as well as local beer from Baronscourt Brewery situated less that 2 miles away.
