Happy Sunday everyone ☀️

We’re closed today and making the most of a beautiful wee sunny Sunday! Today’s adventure has taken us to Lindores Abbey Distillery in Newburgh – and what a spot it is 👌

Steeped in history, Lindores Abbey is known as the spiritual home of Scotch whisky, with records dating all the way back to 1494 where the first written reference to whisky in Scotland was documented right here. The distillery blends that incredible heritage with modern craftsmanship, producing whisky on the very same grounds where it all began.

The setting is stunning, the distillery itself is amazing, and the team there are so welcoming and knowledgeable. If you get the chance, we highly recommend booking a whisky tour – you’ll learn so much and of course enjoy a dram (or two 😉). Just be warned… it’s far too easy to drink!

Lindores Abbey Distillery is around 15–18 miles (24–29 km) from Perth, depending on the route you take.
By car, it’s roughly a 25–30 minute drive, making it a perfect short trip for a day out—especially on a sunny Sunday like today ☀️

A perfect way to spend a Sunday. Back open tomorrow as usual – see you then!

We’ve had a few enquiries about gluten-free options, especially for coeliac diets, so we wanted to share some helpful info 👇

If you’re gluten-free and eat veggie or fish we have plenty of options available! Dishes that can be suitable include:
No. 7, 15, 21, 22, 23, 25, 26
All curries from No. 31–38 (except 35)
Stir-fries No. 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 62, 63, 64

✨ Just let us know when ordering, and we’ll make sure your dish is prepared gluten-free.

We completely understand that it can feel uncomfortable asking when you arrive — please don’t worry at all, our team is always happy to help and make sure you feel at ease.
