What a 16- and 13-year working relationship looks like.

Between us, we’ve spent many years working together, supporting one another, and growing through every stage of hospitality—from Chef de Partie and Sous Chef to Head Chef, Front of House, and Management.

Returning to The Mussel Inn has been an incredible milestone. Bringing together all the skills, experience, and friendships we’ve built over the years to create - this is something we’re immensely proud of.

A trip to Cornwall with a purpose 🍸

Sam, Sarah & Ellen recently visited Pocketful of Stones, the makers of Dr Squid Gin, to see their refill scheme in action.

Not only is the gin distilled with squid ink and inspired by the Cornish coast, but you can also take your empty bottle back and have it refilled for less than buying new. A simple idea that cuts waste and keeps a great bottle in use.

We’re proud to stock Dr Squid Gin in the farm shop and serve it behind the bar at The Mussel Inn.

Good gin, made sustainably. What’s not to love?

What a debut! 👏

Our first ever pop up at Party in the Park was one to remember.

We’re always proud to support our village in any way we can, so being part of such a brilliant community event meant a lot to us. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our pop up bar and BBQ throughout the day.

It was lovely meeting so many of you, and even better to see familiar faces heading back to The Mussel later in the afternoon. 🤍

Behind the scenes at S&J Fisheries HQ! 🐟

Sam and Sarah enjoyed a fantastic tour, gaining great insight into life at S&J and seeing firsthand how they source bespoke seafood from Brixham Fish Market for small businesses like ours.

We witnessed the incredible passion for seafood that helps us proudly bring the freshest, highest-quality produce to our customers at the pub and farm shop. 🐟✨
