Keir Starmer says he wants to prove the doubters wrong...
Start by:
• Lowering business rates
• Reducing NI contributions that are crippling small and large businesses
• Lowering VAT on hospitality
Since Labour came into power, many in hospitality and retail feel like things have only become harder. Rising costs, higher wages, energy bills, insurance, and extra tax pressure are pushing good businesses to breaking point.
Pubs, bars, restaurants and independent shops are the backbone of towns and cities across the UK but right now, many are barely surviving.
Businesses don’t want handouts. They want fair conditions to trade, employ people and grow again.
But it seems whoever gets into power never really listens to the people actually keeping the economy moving.
