Sinead signs off today after 6 years. Our self proclaimed “Chippy Gal” leaves us to commit to growing her own business.
For the last 2 years, I’ve considered her the real boss. Nothing happens here without Shin’s say so. There’s nothing she can’t do and has 100% prevented me from throwing in the towel on many an occasion. She will be sorely missed by us all so please take the time if you’re in or passing by tonight and say goodbye to a Chips @ No.8 legend.

IT’S BACK!!
We’ve lost count of the number of times this has been requested after it’s run on our Specials Menu ended, so we’ve brought it back.
House breaded calamari back on ‘Special’.
Squid rings tenderised in buttermilk, seasoned with garlic and smoked paprika and fried with a crispy breadcrumb. Served with a lemon aioli 💥
Gluten free available on request.

We’re changing the deal a little today to incorporate all our fresh fish items.
We’ve made the decision this morning to close tomorrow due to the high temperatures expected so as I’d already ordered our fresh fish deliveries last night, I want them gone today!
It’s no fun and a little hazardous working in kitchen temperatures that will hold steady mid 40’s for the whole shift so we’re giving the team a pass tomorrow.
We hope you understand.
It’s been a difficult decision but from past experience our kitchen and areas close to the frying range encounter temperatures of between 8-10 degrees C higher than external temps and that means it can be incredibly uncomfortable. It makes sense (to me) to close on what is traditionally our quietest day to preserve the team’s energy for our busier days.
We’re sorry if this has affected anyone’s plans.
